🤠GO POKES and GO ZEBRAS🦓

Our Robotics students got to see (and fly!) drones with our ROTC cadets last Friday! Students were shown how they are made, how to fly them, and what they are used for in the military.
What a fun day!

It was an ARCADE NIGHT in Mrs. Rahn's STEM class! Parents were invited to a night of playing the games their child coded and created in STEM class!
Students were challenged with coding their game using Scratch coding and they used a Makey-Makey Circuit board and conductive materials to connect the coding to a physical cardboard game that students built. They were true “makers” using their creativity and knowledge of circuitry to create & build an arcade! Roosa 4th grade & CHS students were also invited to come play!
It was so fun!

If you could design a playground for your elementary school, what would you have on it?
Students in Mrs. Styers' class designed a playground for an elementary school using parallelograms and triangles. They had to find the areas needed for each piece of equipment and how much floor covering would be needed for those spaces and how much grass would be left on the rest of the playground. They added gardens and fencing around the perimeters. Finally, they had to draw a blueprint for their playground with the final design.

Shooting Stars POD is making it a "treat" to do the right thing in school!
Shooting Stars has a new ticket program. Students can earn tickets by turning in assignments complete and on time, good behavior, extra effort, and Random Acts of Kindness. Mr. Berglund hosts a weekly drawing to win a prize which include “lunch with a teacher”, “teacher's assistant”, “VIP seating”, or a possible “homework exemption”! Those are some great prizes!

What's better than getting a good grade on an assignment? Getting a compliment from your classmates!
Mrs. Hulse and Mrs. Mercer's students celebrated their hard work of writing essays by displaying them through the hallways. The students read each others essays then wrote compliments on them to tell what they liked about the essay!
Positive feedback at it's best!
