How do you keep students attention to study and prepare for state tests? By giving them a change of scenery! Students in Mrs. Prine's class enjoyed the beautiful weather while reviewing for the upcoming state tests. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

‼WRJH will begin STATE TESTING on April 20th‼ Reminder-if you need to pick up your child during school, and they are in an active testing session, they will need to finish that session. If a student leaves mid-session, the test becomes invalid. Testing days and times per grade level will be posted so parents can be informed and plan accordingly. If you have any questions regarding when your child is testing, please email their teacher or call the front office at 918-923-4205.

WRJH had a special guest, Buffy Coleman from the Harlem Wizards! Mr. Coleman spoke to the students about bullying- something very important! He also showcased his skills on the court and showed students how to do some of those tricks, too! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Enrollment for the 2023-2024 school year is now open! All families must complete enrollment every year. Enrollment may be completed entirely online, and we recommend using a desktop or laptop computer to enroll. If you do not have access to a computer, or if you need enrollment assistance, the CPS Enrollment Center has computers and scanners available and will be happy to help. They are open daily from 8a - 4p (arrive by 3:30p). You are now able to enroll your current students for the 2023-2024 school year by accessing the student records portal through this link https://ok.wengage.com/claremore. Is Baseball like the US Army? Our baseball players got to hear first hand how the two are similar! First Sergeant Christopher Long came and spoke to the JH Baseball team this morning. He talked about Army values and how they correlate to the game of baseball. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Has it been a VERY long winter? Our students think so! With warmer weather, students enjoyed a day outside and were very interested in a new "classmate" they met in the field! He didn't seem to want to come back to class, though, so he went on his way! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

When you swing on a swing set, do you go higher when you swing faster? What about if you push a door as hard as you can, will it open? What are forces causing this? Newton's laws of motion relate an object's motion to the forces acting on it. In Mrs. Hammack's class, students are studying Newton’s laws of motion. They built their own Newton’s cradles out of hot glue, popsicle sticks, marbles, beads, and string. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

What do you do when you need a brain break? GO OUTSIDE! Mrs. Wiley's students played a game where students stood in a circle. One student said a word then the next student had to say the previously stated word and a new word and continue this around the circle. It was fun for the kids to get out of the classroom! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

We will have an informational meeting for students interested in playing basketball next year and their parents. This will be for those entering the 7th and 8th grades for the 2023-24 school year. What is Chemistry? In Mrs. Newbury’s High School Physical Science class students got to make mixtures and define their properties as part of an introduction to their semester of Chemistry. They will be ready for High School Chemistry classes! #CPSZEBRPRIDE

For National Assistant Principal's Week we have one more to recognize! Mr. Worthington has been here three years and has done a great job! From helping in the halls, to helping in the classrooms, Mr. Worthington knows how to jump in where needed! We appreciate him so much! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

What do cells look like? Mrs. Boyd's Science classes are learning this- and how to look at them! Students in 6th grade Science class have started the unit on cells. Before looking at cells, the basics must be learned. Students learned the parts of the microscope and how to make a wet mount slide. Is it Newton's Third Law of Motion or Newbury's? Newton's third law states that for every action (force) in nature there is an equal and opposite reaction. Mrs. Newbury's class learned all about it in class! And the hall! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
