Making History Together: A Season of Grit, Community, and Excellence
This fall, Claremore Athletics embarked on a season that will be remembered as one of the most remarkable in our history. Every fall sports team qualified for their respective State competitions for the first time ever, showcasing a shared commitment to the core values that define who we are as a district.
This fall, Claremore Athletics didn’t just compete; they made history; every fall sport qualified for State, and five athletes earned All-State honors. This unprecedented achievement speaks to the core values that guide our district:
Football: Charging into the Quarterfinals
With a season record of 9-2 and a 5-2 standing in district play, our Zebra football team embodied grit and determination. They battled their way to the quarterfinals, ranking third in the district, proving that hard work and perseverance paid off. Our community is united each Friday night under the lights as the stands are filled with #CPSZEBRAPRIDE. Every yard gained and touchdown scored reflected the purpose our players brought to the field: to represent Claremore with honor and passion.
Volleyball: Setting the Standard for Success
Our volleyball team spiked their way to a 28-8 season and their second consecutive year as undefeated in conference play, ranking third in the state and claiming the Regional Championship title. With two All-Staters (Ella Ramsey and Clair Hardage) among their ranks, they exemplified excellence in every serve, set, and spike. This season wasn’t just about the wins—it was about innovation on the court, finding new ways to outplay their opponents while inspiring the next generation of athletes to pursue greatness.
Softball: Swinging for the Fences
The Zebra softball team finished their season 25-9, with a 7-3 record in district play and another Regional Championship trophy to add to the collection. Their grit was evident in every inning. With two players named All-Staters (Halle Bucktrot and Grace Weaver), their achievements were a testament to their relentless pursuit of excellence.
Cross Country: Running with Purpose
Our Boys' Cross-Country team placed fourth in the conference and qualified for State, finishing in the top 10 in Oklahoma. Meanwhile, the Girls' Cross-Country team took first at the conference and also finished in the top 10 at State. Emma Robinson earned the title of State Runner-Up and was named an All-Stater. These athletes showed not only endurance but also purposeful determination. Their success highlights how innovation in training and strategy can yield incredible results.
This historic season is more than just a collection of records and titles; it reflects what makes Claremore special. It’s about the grit it takes to compete, the community that rallies behind every team, the excellence that drives us forward, the purpose that fuels our ambition, and the innovation that keeps us ahead of the game.
As we celebrate these incredible achievements, we are reminded that this is just the beginning. The tradition of excellence we’ve built this season will inspire future Zebras for years to come. Next up - Winter Sports: Wrestling, Basketball, and Swim.
