Meet the Coaches

Jonaton Gelnar, Head Coach

Jonathan was born and raised in Hobart, OK and played high school baseball and football at Hobart High School. During his high school career, he was Oklahoma Coaches Association (OCA) All-State catcher and an OCA All-State running back. He then went on to play for South Mountain Community College (Phoenix) and Redlands Community College (El Reno) before he was forced to give up baseball due to health problems. He is married to Macy and they have two boys, Jett (4) and Jax (9 Months).

Dickey

Brent Dickey, Assistant Coach

My name is Brent Dickey. I was born and raised in southern California and moved to Oklahoma to continue my education and play baseball at Rogers State University. At RSU, I earned my bachelor of science in sports management and am currently pursuing my masters degree in business administration. I enjoy the community and support from the town of Claremore and am beyond excited to be part of the team here at CPS.

Hopper

Hayden Hopper, Assistant Coach

Is coming from Preston High School where I coached baseball for the past two years. Here at Claremore I am teaching P.E. at Will Rogers Junior High, as well as coaching junior softball and varsity baseball. I attended school and played ball at Seminole State College and earned my bachelor’s degree from Northeastern State University. As well as earning my degree I met my wife Ashlee. My wife works as an RN so we both stay plenty busy and are excited about becoming party of the Zebra Family.

Davis

Taylor Davis, Assistant Coach

Taylor was born and raised here in Claremore. He graduated from Claremore High School in 2018. During his time here played football and baseball where he lettered all 4 years. He was named to the 5a-4 all district team his Junior (baseball) and Senior (football and baseball) years. Following his Junior baseball season he was selected to Team Oklahoma for the Sunbelt Classic and the Northeast team for the Oklahoma State Games.Following his Senior season he was selected to play in the Three Rivers All-Star game. Injuries led him to give up his playing career after high school. After high school, he went on to attend the University of Central Oklahoma where he graduated with a bachelor of science degree in biology. This is Taylor’s first year coaching.

Noah Grimett, Assistant Coach

graduated from Claremore High School in 2018. He earned an associate’s degree in Arts at Seminole State University. He is now in his last year at RSU where he will earn a BA in Communications in Radio/Television. Read More
