fall sports

If you have not been paying attention it is time to start. We are nearing the playoffs in both softball and volleyball and we are at the halfway point in football. So far the product from these 3 programs has not disappointed.

Softball is heading into the regional tourney finishing 3rd in the district and compiling a 21-7 record. This team has many things working in their favor as they head into the postseason. Coach Eddy says "he likes where we are at this point and fully expects to win the regional and make another trip to the state tourney." The regional will be at Collinsville starting on Thursday and finishing up on Saturday.

Volleyball has also had a great year with a record of 26-7. The Lady Zebras have been working hard and have earned the right to host their regional next week. When asked Coach Jackson said "It wont be easy and we will have to play well to win the regional, but we fully expect to get the job done and make the state tournament in back to back seasons." He also said " the girls are going to need the fans help, so please get out and help them punch their ticket." What a year it has been for this team and its not over yet.

Football also is having a great year coming into the second half of the year. After an 11-2 season and graduating so many seniors, no one really knew what to expect. After the loss in the semis last year Braxton Ethridge told the underclassmen, "the standard has been set." This group has taking those words and ran with them starting 5-0 and ranked 4th in the state. When asked about the season up to this point Coach Hurt said "5-0 is great and we have put our selves in great position to do some great things, but this week is the one that matters. If we can get the job done this week at Pryor we will really be rolling." Coach is right, its rivalry week for the Zebras and we need this one not to be 6-0, we need this one because its Pryor. Lets pack the seats in Pryor this Friday.

The good news about this time of the year is not only are our fall sports really playing well, you don't have to choose which one to watch. Softball, Volleyball, and Football are all playing on different nights, so get out and route on these great kids and help them continue to win.
