Today Roosa Kindergarten celebrated Groundhog Day! We learned that Punxsutawney Phil DID see his shadow and we will have six more weeks of winter! They listened to a funny story called "Ten Grouchy Groundhogs" and colored a picture of Punxsutawney Phil! Then worked on a sentence that said "Will he see his shadow?" We wish Phil would have NOT seen his shadow but had fun learning about him anyway :-) #GROUNDHOGDAY #PUNXSUTAWNEYPHIL #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

It is important to keep our kids safe while online, and Claremore Public Schools is committed to providing software for our devices and resources for our parents. We have partnered with FamilyZoneUSA to ensure students’ cyber safety at school and at home.
This #TechTipTuesday will show parents how to set up an account with FamilyZone and obtain the instructions on how to setup FamilyZone on all personal electronic devices that are not school-issued.

Mrs. Page received an ipad grant and had this to say: "I adore the IPad grant I received and the blessing it has been this year especially! My First Graders at Roosa Elementary use them daily and this slide show is only a small piece of what their iPads mean to my students. These iPads have allowed them to escape the captivity of COVID and let their minds explore new places through virtual field trips. Students respond to technology in the classroom with ease and enjoyment. These iPads have provided an enhancement of learning in my classroom this year. Thank you CPSF for making this dream come true!" Here is a link to a video she made: https://youtu.be/IPj84mWzmvM #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Roosa Kindergarten students had a "blast" today studying about our schools namesake Stuart A. Roosa, Apollo 14 command module pilot, and his travels into space! We had a lot of fun putting planets in order, labeling space objects, rolling and graphing with space dice, writing the room looking for space pictures and putting together puzzles about planets and a 5 foot rocket ship! We might have some future astronauts right in our own school :-) #STUARTROOSADAY #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Claremore Public School Celebrates School Board Recognition Month
The Claremore Public School (CPS) District joins school districts throughout Oklahoma to celebrate School Board Recognition Month, Superintendent Bryan Frazier announced.
"Our school board members are volunteers who shoulder critical responsibilities and often make difficult choices for our District, all without pay. Their goal focuses on the future success of the children in our District," Superintendent Frazier said. "Celebrating School Board Recognition Month is one way to say thanks for all they do."

Snag Golf is a golf program created by two golf pros. It introduces golf to elementary aged kids using a Driver, Putter and Math Skills. Students are required to get different amounts of strokes using different putters at each station. This is possible thanks to the Claremore Public Schools Foundation for purchasing these supplies. Roosa and Miss Johnson thanks the Foundations for their generously.
