Parents- wondering why your student needed Oreos in Mrs. Tietz's Science class? Well, we have the explanation! They were not for parties, snacks or dipping in our milk cartons! They were learning about the phases of the moon. Have you ever thought the moon resembled an Oreo? Now you just might! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

We were the FASTEST... 🚤 Mr. Isenbart's classes made BOATS! They started by making models, determining the weight each could hold and how they could sustain being in the water. Once the boats were made, they took them to the Oologah/Talala pool and raced them with other boats. One of our boats was the fastest, and one was the first to SINK! Lots of learning and FUN was had by all! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

JROTC visited our 7th graders at WRJH. They talked about what they do, who they are, and how to join. What a great assembly! Thanks, JROTC! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Once testing was finished, students in Mrs. Lohmann's class learned to play BUNCO! It was a nice end to a hectic week of state tests! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Our ROBOTICS team went to WORLDS in Dallas! They had a great time, learned a lot about robots, teamwork and patience and are ready to do it again! Oh, and they won the SPORTSMANSHIP award! 🏆 Great job, ZEBRAS! We are so proud of you! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Who doesn't love cake?🍰 Students in Ms. Phariss' class celebrated the end of the school year with cake, candy, and lemonade! How fun... and tasty! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

The band had a HISTORY MAKING DAY at the Heartland Music Festival this year! Both the WRJH 6th Grade Band and the WRJH Symphonic Band (7th/8th) received Sweepstakes awards which is the highest rating they can receive! The WRJH Symphonic Band made HISTORY by winning the Trophy of Best Overall for the day! This has never been done before for this program! Many soloists and sections were also recognized for their superb playing. It was a great day to be a part of the Claremore Zebra Band! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Mercer's class has been working on a creative writing project. They created Handprint Self Portraits. They traced over their hands and then chose a word that represents them to write in the middle of their hand. They added a border then filled their hand and border with repeating patterns and colors. After they finished their design, they filled in the white space with writing that answered the question, “Who are you?” #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

The Will Rogers flyers aka WRJH Girls' STEM Club participated in SpeedFest in Stillwater. Speedfest is an exciting, high-speed aircraft design competition which is intended to foster enthusiasm for aviation, and unmanned aircraft design. The girls have spent several months building their plane, creating a video, and designing their hardhats and shirts for the competition. We had 7 successful laps with the plane, a few crashes and rebuilds but in the end, the girls gained a tremendous amount of confidence and real world experiences of overcoming failures by redesigning and rebuilding. They are ready to compete again next year! By participating in this event, each girl earned a $2,000 scholarship to the OSU school of engineering! Way to go girls and Mrs. Rahn! We are so proud of you! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

The Board of Education approved a new 22-23 academic calendar on Monday. There are a few changes you might want to note. 📅 Fall Break was moved up a week to Oct. 13 & 14, 2022 📅 Graduation was set for May 21, 2023 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

It's YOUR turn (incoming) 7th graders! Join us for 7th Grade PARENT NIGHT on Tuesday, May 10, at 6pm. Parents will get information about the upcoming school year and the Caring Van will be in our parking lot from 3pm-6pm to give immunizations💉 to students who need the tDap shot.
