Guess what Mrs. Simmonds' class has been up to? They are learning all about the world of plate tectonics and had a blast exploring the boundaries with a tasty twist! They used cool whip and graham crackers to model the geological phenomena that shape our planet.

With 15 school days until Winter Break, Santa and CPS staff want to welcome you back from Thanksgiving break and remind you it's essential to FINISH STRONG. That is 105 hours of instructional time and 6,300 minutes of learning. ATTENDANCE MATTERS!

In Dr. Young's 7th grade class, students used shaving cream to help review literary devices. Students got the opportunity to have a sensory experience while making learning connections and having fun simultaneously! They had a blast and asked to review like this more often.

Today, with the help of Mrs. Eddings in the WRJH Library, Dr. Young’s class celebrated reading the most books per student with root beer floats and board games during WIN. This class had an average of 2.65 books read per student last nine weeks! These students are still diligently reading in hopes of winning this nine week’s competition! Way to go!

Mrs. Williams class celebrated Native American Heritage Month by learning about Native Americans culture, traditions and achievements. They also made beaded artwork resembling corn which is native to North America.

As an introduction to our unit in Plate Boundries unit we studied how Fossils can tell a story of time. In Mrs. Boyd's class they made a mold and filled it with minerals to make a cast fossil.

Mr. Borntreger's class participated in election week by predicting which candidate would be elected from each state. After coloring in their estimations, students practiced Integer work by adding the total electoral votes together to predict the winner. Several students showcased their artistic skills along the way!
