The Claremore Fire Department helped Roosa Elementary celebrate 🔥🚒Fire Prevention Week🔥🚒. They told students how to prevent and escape a fire. The Firemen showed students about Stop, Drop & Roll, and to get low when there is smoke. The MOST important thing they taught students is that all families need to have a “Meeting Place” located outside such as a mailbox or tree away from the house. The “Meeting Place” is where everyone in the family goes in case of fire. This helps everyone to be safe. Let’s give a round of applause to these firemen! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Youngs, 3rd grade teacher. #ROOSASTAFFSPOTLIGHT - I went to college at OSU. This is my first year at Roosa Elementary. I previously taught at Westside for 12 years. I also taught at Union Public Schools for two years. I have been married for 34 years and we have two children. My daughter Ashley and her husband Peter live in Oklahoma City and they are both RNs. They have one child which is our first grandchild, Owen who will be two in October. My daughter Nicole is engaged to Jeremy and they live in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. Nicole is a Physical Therapist and Jeremy is an Assistant Principal at a Jr. HIgh School. My husband and I have one dog named Gibson! We love spending time outdoors hiking, camping and swimming. Mary Marshall was an inspiration in my life, when I was an assistant she encouraged me to get my teaching certification. I love teaching because I love the relationships that I form with the children. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
