The staff members at Roosa Elementary choose two staff members to be the Staff Members of the Month! This month Mrs. Foster, Computer Teacher and Mrs. Collier, Math RTI were awarded this honor for their above and beyond love and hard work at Roosa Elementary! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

📚Books! Books! Books! 📚 So many books in the library! The library is a place where students can choose books from different genres. Learning about places far and near can be found by turning the pages of a book! 1st graders stopped by the library to choose their favorite library book. Reading is a great way to ignite creativity and sparks curiosity! Set a good example and read a book to your child. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

5th grade students went on a shopping spree! Students were given challenges and had to spend a certain amount of money without going over. They worked in teams to find solutions to see what they could buy. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

The waivers from the USDA that allowed us to serve all students free of charge have expired. Families must complete the Educational Benefits Application for the 2022-23 school year to qualify for the Free or Reduced Meals. Filling out the Educational Benefits Application is quick and easy. Have you ever wondered why giraffes 🦒 have long necks? 1st graders thought about it and wrote their thoughts in their journals. They made sure to put a finger space between each word. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Ms. Best’s Pre K students spent time outdoors enjoying the beautiful weather. Outdoor activities help develop essential motor skills like coordination, balance and dexterity. Students will constantly develop these skills as they grow. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Early release days begin NEXT Friday, August 26, 2022 to allow time for our teachers to collaborate and work in their professional learning communities. Tomorrow (8.19.22) will be a FULL DAY of classes. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Roosa students started their first day of school today! As students arrived the RSU Hillcats cheered the Roosa students as they entered the building. The Hillcats high-fived, sang and danced as Roosa students joined in too. Thank you RSU Hillcats for a wonderful way to start this school year. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

PTO got a lot of new members signed up at Back to School night and they are excited for all the fun things to come this year! The next meeting is 8/22 at 6pm in the Roosa library. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Where is my child's bus stop? When will my child arrive at home? Reminder to our bus rider families to download our STOPFINDER APP to their mobile phones.
