School librarians are nothing short of magical! They are able to encourage the youngest of learners to love reading , while educating everyone from small to tall on the myriad of resources the library has to offer.
Whether helping to find that one book. . .you know, the one that tells the story of a boy. . . that said a thing. . .and maybe has a talking dog. . .oh! and it might be blue, to teaching how best to read an atlas, to guiding students to the section of nonfiction to find a book all about zebras - 599, for those that are curious - librarians have a seemingly endless supply of knowledge and love to share it with their students!
We are so thankful for Ms. Kirton and how much she inspires others to love learning just like her! Happy school librarian's day!

The annual Future Chef competition recently took place at Catalayah. Elementary students were invited to submit their favorite recipes, and Elianna jumped and the chance to participate. After making huevos rancheros para ninos, she walked away with a bronze and as a district finalist! 🥉🍳
Although this is only the second year Elianna has participated in the competition, she can't remember a time that she wasn't helping out in the kitchen and learning how to whip up her own masterpieces. She says she loves that the contest gives her a chance to meet future chefs from other schools!

See a need, fill a need!
Mrs. Brasfield may be new to our fulltime staff this year, but she's no stranger to Claremore Public Schools. With two of her own kids having been Zebra grads, and having subbed for the schools for several year previously, she came in running and ready to go!
In addition to the academic help she provides, she has been quite observant of other needs - like just how difficult it can be to concentrate on a lesson when your hair won't cooperate and keeps hanging in her face.
Her solution: Teleties! She was was already a fan of the hair ties and reached out to see if their company could help with the problem, and help they did! they supplied 4th grade with more than enough ties to solve the issue!
A huge thank you to both Mrs. Brasfield and to Teleties for helping us out!!
