How many ways are there to come to the same answer? Mrs. A's super scholars found that when it comes to the order in which you perform the operation, there are TONS of ways to get to the same conclusion! Each student was given a kit containg different numbers, parentheses, and smattering of plus, minus, divide by, and times symbols with the goal of putting them in the right positions to make one correct equation. It didn't take long before they realized that each kit had the number 21and THAT must be the end goal! Way to work it, 5th grade, and thanks for making PEMDAS so much fun, Ms. A!! #OutstandingOrderofOperations #PemdasPuzzles ()³×÷+- #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

If you haven't heard yet, our 4th grade Lacrosse team is pretty epic! Fiercely competitive, and seriously skilled, you don't want to miss seeing them play - Mrs. Robinson and Mrs. Brasfield got the chance to go cheer on the team today, and Mrs. Robinson was even able to snag a picture with our Roosa athletes! 🤩 We've said it before, and we'll say it again - once a Roosa kid, always a roosa kid, inside the classroom and out! #ZebraLacrosse 🥍🥍🥍 #LetsGo4thGrade 📣📣📣 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE ❤️🤍❤️

With the end of the year fast approaching, students are anxiously awaiting the newest Roosa yearbook, but have found more treasures than expected by looking through some that came out before they were even born! Some students found aunts and uncles back in their Roosa days. Others oohed and ahhed over pictures of their favorite teachers through the years. Fifth grade teacher, Mrs. Daniel, caught a glimpse of her other half, long before they walked down the aisle, while Mrs. Hostler found her now adult daughter way back in kindergarten. A few kiddos found their own teacher, Mrs. LaValley, and learned that "even SHE went to PreK!?" With all the fun it is to walk down memory lane, be sure you don't miss your chance for this year! 2024 yearbooks will be in soon and you can still get your order in! Attached, you'll find an order form that can be printed and send in with your student along with $25 for your own piece of history! #MemoryLane #RoosaYearbook2024 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Twenty-two years is a long time to do something, but if we've proven nothing else, Roosa has shown that we are in it for the long haul! Great job to all of the teachers, past and present, who've made this happen through the years! Thank you for the encouragement and guidance along the way and a huge thank you to our students! You are the reason each one of us is here and we are so proud of you every day! #RoosaGE22 #AlwaysExpectGreatness #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader. – President John Quincy Adams This quote might have been said a century or so before she stepped into the principal spot - or was even born - but you can't convince us that it's not talking about our very own wonderful Mrs. Willard. "She's always very kind and leads with respect," says one student "She makes everything fun and is so loving!" says another Teachers were heard saying things like, "She truly loves EVERY kid, no matter what, and the kids feel that." "I love that she feeds us. A lot. And she's always happy. . .maybe that's because of all the good food." There are so many qualities that help make her the amazing leader that she is, and we are so thankful for each and every one of them! Happy School Principal Day, Mrs. Willard!! Thank you for being you! #SchoolPrincipalDay2024 #RoosaPrincipalsRock #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

🚨🚨🚨 Winner alert number 2!🚨🚨🚨 We heard all about our 3rd-5th grade weekend challenge winner, now meet our PreK-2nd grade winner. Lily Garvin was our top seller in the younger grades and won the chance to throw a first pitch, too, but due to previous engagements, couldn't make it to the game. We couldn't let her hard work go unrewarded, though, so Lily got the chance to spin the Wheel of WOW two times! Spin 1 earned her some hot, cheesy, delicious pizza!🍕 🍕🍕 But not just for her: she won a pizza party for her WHOLE class and is so excited to share her prize with all of her friends later this week!! Spin 2 won her the right to pick her favorite lunch and staff member of choice to enjoy a quiet lunch with. McDs and Mrs. Reavis were selected as the favorites because friench fries and art teachers make everyone happy! 🍟🎨🥰 Way to sell, Lily!! #WeekendChallengeWinner 🍕🍟🍕🍟 #ChanceToWin #SellSellSell #PrizesForDays #CPSZEBRAPRIDE 🦓

Once upon a time, in a magical, not so far away land, a ball was held for the lords and ladies, dukes and duchesses, princes and princesses, and of course the fairest of kings and queens in all of second grade. 👑 They came in droves in their finery and danced and sang as families watched on in merriment. A bow here, a curtsy there, and another Roosa Second Grade Fairytale Ball has come to a close. And they all lived happily ever after. Some sank each other's ships in PE, others pounded out clay in art, and more still played some fun games to test their knowledge on notes on the treble and bass staff in music. Fifth grade starts their state testing today, so of course they've got to shake off some stress, get out the wiggles, and just plain have some fun before the testing begins! Good luck, guys! Just do your best, and ROCK THAT TEST! #RockTheTest #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
