Mrs. Harrison's 4th grade students expanded their knowledge of area and perimeter through a STEM activity provided by one of our amazing volunteers, Mrs. Clemons. Students were instructed to see if they could build the tallest structure possible with spaghetti noodles and marshmallows. The catch: they could only use pieces under 6" long and had to build around a 10"X14" piece of paper. They had a blast! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Pre-K students listened to Elmer the Elephant, a story about an Elephant that is a patchwork of color. He is different than the rest of the herd, and struggles with his differences. Throughout the story, he learns that its OK to be different! Our differences are what make us unique and special. After the story, students talked about their differences and what makes them special, and then colored their own Elmer the Elephant. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Meet Mrs. Dudley. Mrs. Dudley is one of our newest paraprofessionals. She is responsible for reinforcing the teacher's effort in the classroom and providing critical support and intervention for students in her class. Not only is Mrs. Dudley a huge help in and out of her classroom, she also works to build positive relationships with students and staff all over the building. She is such a positive asset to Claremont, and we are lucky to have her! Give Mrs. Dudley a round of applause in the comments! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

5th graders work on close reading over current events or important events in history every week. This week, they completed a close reading over Martin Luther King Jr. Students were asked to write their thoughts, questions, things they found interesting, and things they agree/disagree with all over the article. They then discussed these as a class. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
