As we conclude the week of Veterans Day, let’s remember that while there is a special day to honor our veterans, we should be grateful every day for their service and sacrifice. Thank you, Veterans!

Last weekend, Colonel John Rahe and his wife, our very own Mrs. Rahe, attended the United States Marine Corps Ball. This special event took place just before Veterans Day!
Colonel Rahe has served 30 years with the USMC as a Naval aviator, flying AV-8B Harriers. Today, you’ll find him at Claremore High School, serving as the Senior Naval Science Instructor for Navy JROTC.
Thank you, Colonel Rahe for your service, sacrifice and continued inspiration to our Claremore students.

Chef Ryan joined us for lunch today to share information about dragon fruit! Students had the opportunity to see the fruit up close and even try it. Thank you, Chef Ryan, for helping us learn something new!
Dragon fruit is a tropical fruit that grows on the Hylocereus cactus, otherwise known as the Honolulu Queen.
Other common names for dragon fruit include pitaya and strawberry pear.
Dragon fruit, which is considered a "superfood," is known for its high nutrient content, along with potential antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Some research indicates eating this exotic pink or red fruit may potentially reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and cancer.
