Chef Ryan joined us for lunch today to share information about dragon fruit! Students had the opportunity to see the fruit up close and even try it. Thank you, Chef Ryan, for helping us learn something new! Dragon fruit is a tropical fruit that grows on the Hylocereus cactus, otherwise known as the Honolulu Queen. Other common names for dragon fruit include pitaya and strawberry pear. Dragon fruit, which is considered a "superfood," is known for its high nutrient content, along with potential antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Some research indicates eating this exotic pink or red fruit may potentially reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and cancer. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
