It’s National Library Month and CPS wants you to get to know the names and faces of those who work with our students every day in our school libraries. A librarian or a more modern name is Library Media Specialist seems to have a book recommendation for everyone. With 20,000 titles in a library, there is always something for everyone. This week we will find out some of our CPS Library Media Specialist’s favorites. Ashley Troyer, Claremont 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻/𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀? My favorite book to read to MY children is John Ronald’s Dragons or Finding Winnie. My favorite book to read to my students is The Day You Begin by Jacqueline Woodson. The Day You Begin is a beautiful story of self-love and acceptance. I cannot read it without tearing up. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗹-𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸? My all time favorite book...this is a hard one. My favorite book tends to change depending on the stage of life I’m in. The book I’ve read the most: Brave New World by Alduous Huxley. My favorite genre is Historical Fiction and I specifically love to read books about WWII. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴? I am currently reading The Things We Cannot Say by Kelley Rimmer. It is a...you guessed it...Historical Fiction novel set during WWII.
