The Claremore High School Biomedical Innovation students are working to increase the efficiency of the hospital Emergency Room. Hospitals and emergency care centers strive to provide quality care to all who enter, but time is of the essence. Timely patient care can make the difference between life and death. Therefore, it is the mission of CHS Biomedical Innovations class to design an emergency department that takes efficient patient care to the next level. Using knowledge the teams have gleaned in the Biomedical Science program regarding emergency medical careers, diagnostic testing and patient evaluation, human body systems, and medical interventions, our students have analyzed the workings of an emergency room, identified inefficiencies, and worked to design a more efficient emergency medicine delivery system. Thank you Mr. Riggs for providing these excellent opportunities for students to expand their knowledge and creativity for the purpose of serving others.

Mrs. Bright and Ms. Ogden's Environmental Science class have been able to view the drastic changes that can be made from the effects of our weather on the local environment. Students were able to visit the RCC Reserve on January 25th and January 30. The difference that just a couple days makes is remarkable. Students on January 25th viewed the large pond and it was almost completely frozen. Students were able to view deer prints going across the entire expanse of the pond and were able to view turtles sleeping along the edge of the pond under the water but closest to land to stay out of the ice. Students returned on January 30th to see much of the large pond thawed out. They were able to pull in some sheets of the ice that were left floating on it and took some measurements. The wildlife around the lake was different too. The turtles could be seen sunning themselves on the logs and enjoying the warmer temperatures and the sun. Mrs. Bright's Environmental Science class will be going back several times a month to take data on the changes in specific areas surrounding the large pond. They will be documenting all of their data and sharing it with others.

The CHS Baseball program is hosting their annual Fiesta Dinner. February 10, 2024 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m in the Claremore High School Cafeteria. $12 per ticket per meal, includes drink and dessert. A representative from Oklahoma State University will be here this Thursday, Feb 1st during encore in the Think Tank to give information or answer questions regarding OSU. A representative from Tulsa Community College will be here on Thurs. Feb. 8th during encore in the think tank. If you are planning to attend Rogers State University as a Freshman college student you have the opportunity for an automatic admission day. The RSU representative will be here on Feb. 8th. If you are interested please sign up in the counseling office for a specific time that day.

This Wednesday is ZAP so students will report to their ZAP advisor on Wednesday during encore. All SENIORS need to report to the cafeteria for ZAP.

Claremore High School's NJROTC team recently participated in the Western Heights Drone Meet, showcasing exceptional skills and determination. Their outstanding performance undoubtedly reflects the hard work, dedication, and discipline instilled by their instructors. The team's precision and teamwork were evident, as they navigated and controlled drones with expertise and finesse. Congratulations to Claremore High School's NJROTC on their remarkable achievements at the Western Heights Drone Meet. Their success not only demonstrates the strength of their program but also exemplifies the values of leadership and excellence that the NJROTC strives to instill in its cadets. Well done to all members of the team for their commendable efforts and for upholding the high standards of Claremore High School. The results were as follows: 14 Teams competed from five states. Claremore had two teams (Team 1 and Team 2). 2024 Claremore Big Brother Program: The Big Brother program teams the CHS Varsity Baseball players with children from the community to help inspire a new generation of baseball players and fans! The $25 membership includes:-1 CHS "Big Brother" T-shirt--FREE admission to all home games (when wearing the special shirt)---Opportunity to run the bases, play catch and spend time with their favorite player after games. The ASVAB test is being offered on Tuesday February 6th at 8:30 a.m. in the CHS Library. This is a test that measures your strengths, weaknesses and potential for future success in four domains: verbal, math, science and technical. If you are interested in taking the ASVAB please sign up in the counseling office, room 101.
