Coach Gelnar at Claremore High School is buzzing with excitement as the Zebra Dome's indoor practice facility gets a major upgrade – brand new artificial turf. This development opens up a realm of possibilities for the baseball team, providing ample space for live drills in fielding, hitting, pitching, and even mental imagery sessions. The outdated carpet, notorious for leaving a trail of "zebra dust" everywhere, is now replaced with a clean and versatile turf. The players can now confidently slide and dive during practices, enhancing their training experience. As the team gears up for the upcoming Baseball Season, Coach Gelnar and his coaching staff are not just focused on physical skills but have also invested significant time building relationships, instilling a strong work ethic, setting ambitious goals, and fostering a cohesive team atmosphere. In every practice, the emphasis is on being exemplary teammates and prioritizing the team above all else. With a commitment to helping each player become the best version of themselves every day, Coach Gelnar is eagerly anticipating a successful and rewarding season ahead. The picture was taken during the teams Mental Imagery session on the new turf.

We would like to congratulate Jeremiah Osteen and Westin Watkins for competing at the State-Qualifying FFA Auctioneering Competition in Oklahoma City yesterday. They’ve worked hard the past few months and have had an amazing mentor, Mr. JB Robison Jr, who currently holds the title of President of the Oklahoma State Auctioneers Association. Although they did not place in the Top 10 for the state, their progression and persistence in the sport was highly noticeable at the competition. There were 40 contestants from around the state and they had a live audience of around 150 people who bid on items that students brought with them to auction off. This is the first time Claremore High School has participated in this event. Great work, Jeremiah and Westin!

Beyond these essential tasks, they offer a myriad of other services that contribute to the overall success and well-being of the Claremore High School community. We celebrate and thank Mrs. Grace, Mrs. Vanaman, and Mrs. Morgan for their invaluable contributions during Counselor's Week and throughout the entire school year.

In Claremore High School's Psychology class, under the guidance of Mr. Greenland, students delved into the fascinating realm of sensation and perception. The class embarked on a comprehensive exploration of how vision is intricately processed in the brain, laying the foundation for a captivating experiment. Students were blindfolded, effectively depriving them of sight, as they navigated through the familiar halls of Claremore High School. This experiential exercise aimed to demonstrate how the absence of one sense could heighten others. As they embarked on this sensory adventure, students found themselves attuned to a heightened level of smells, temperature changes, sounds, and movements. The experiment not only provided a hands-on understanding of sensory processes but also left a lasting impression on the students, fostering a deeper appreciation for the intricate workings of the human mind.

Officer Nate Turman, the dedicated School Resource Officer at Claremore High School, brings 11 years of invaluable experience from the Claremore Police Department to his role, with the past 2 years specifically devoted to serving the school community. The Claremore High School Biomedical Innovation students are working to increase the efficiency of the hospital Emergency Room. Hospitals and emergency care centers strive to provide quality care to all who enter, but time is of the essence. Timely patient care can make the difference between life and death. Therefore, it is the mission of CHS Biomedical Innovations class to design an emergency department that takes efficient patient care to the next level. Using knowledge the teams have gleaned in the Biomedical Science program regarding emergency medical careers, diagnostic testing and patient evaluation, human body systems, and medical interventions, our students have analyzed the workings of an emergency room, identified inefficiencies, and worked to design a more efficient emergency medicine delivery system. Thank you Mr. Riggs for providing these excellent opportunities for students to expand their knowledge and creativity for the purpose of serving others.
