Coach Thorne is wrapping up her unit on The Crucible with her English III students by organizing an escape room that allowed students to engage with the key themes and plot points of the play in an interactive and collaborative way. Students worked in small groups to solve a series of puzzles and challenges, all related to characters, themes, and important quotes from the play. Each task required critical thinking, teamwork, and a deeper analysis of The Crucible. The final challenge involved unlocking a hidden "message" that tied back to the lessons learned from the text. The students were enthusiastic, and the activity sparked great discussions afterward.
