It’s National Library Month and CPS wants you to get to know the names and faces of those who work with our students every day in our school libraries. A librarian or a more modern name is Library Media Specialist seems to have a book recommendation for everyone. With 20,000 titles in a library, there is always something for everyone. This week we will find out some of our CPS Library Media Specialist’s favorites.
Vanessa Mudd, Roosa
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻/𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀?
My favorite book to read to students and my own kids is It's Not Easy Being a Bunny by Marilyn Sadler. This book is so fun to read because it teaches a lesson while being funny.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗹-𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸?
My favorite all time book is The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats - the pictures are AMAZING in that book and I remember my first-grade teacher reading that book to me.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴?
The Good Neighbor: The Life and Work of Fred Rogers by Maxwell King is the current book I am reading. I received this book as a Christmas gift from my kids. I love it because Mr. Rogers has always been an inspiration to me.

5th grade utilized their laptops 💻 to review Language Arts skills. They played an online review game where they could take gold 💰 from each other…. if they got the answers correct! Every question answered correctly they got GOLD COINS; however the coins could be taken by another classmate! Watch out! The scores were tallied on the Smart Board. At the end of the game they were awarded with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Only a limited number of yearbooks are purchased - be sure to reserve yours today! They are $20 each and will be delivered in May! Cash or Check made out to Roosa. Or you can order online at www.jostens.com
