Can a virtual classroom have a class party? YES! Mrs. Smith's virtual class held their class party last week. The students each received a Party in a Bag with various items including Snow Soup - Hot chocolate and marshmallows. ❆☕ The bags were delivered to the students a few days before the party. A Google Meet was scheduled and everyone opened their bags at the same time. Parents had the hot water ready for the Snow Soup and students enjoyed the time together. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Staff Spotlight is on Mrs. Devers - 2nd grade teacher. This is my tenth year to teach 2nd grade at Roosa and I can't imagine doing anything else! I have a nine month old little boy who is my whole world. Baby Luke is a celebrity in our classroom! I was the 2015 Roosa Teacher of the Year and I am so grateful for that honor. To me, teaching is so much more than what is found in the curriculum. Claremore Public Schools will be closed due to inclimate weather tomorrow, Monday, December 14th. This is a SNOW DAY and not a Distance Learning Day. All activities scheduled for tomorrow are also CANCELLED except for the CPS Board of Education Meeting at 6:00 PM. Virtual meal distribution scheduled for Monday will be postponed until Tuesday. Roosa Staff Spotlight - Mr. Peters, Music Teacher - Music gave me a reason to want to go to school. Because I was interested in band I needed to keep my grades up and put in a lot of effort to stay eligible while also working hard on my instrument. If I ever lost sight of that I had teachers there to remind me and encourage me to do better and be better. Looking back, I would not be where I am today without those teachers and I want to pay that forward with my students now. #ROOSASTAFFSPOTLIGHT #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
