In the Innovation Lab, 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders are learning the fundamentals
of robotics through Vex Robotics. The same robotics platform as our junior-high and high-school students. Students learned about gear ratio, the difference between driven and driving gears, torque, and average speed. Utilizing the engineering design process, they designed and built their robots, tested their designs, problem solved obstacles, reevaluated solutions, and then retested modifications. Students recorded data while measuring distance traveled in five test runs using five variables. They had a ton of fun without ever realizing all the math and science involved in their learning! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
