Ms. Fay fills many roles in our school, but sometimes it's fun to just get back to the basics. Ms. Fay had the opportunity to get into the classroom recently and help with a 95% Phonics lesson. Mrs. Stanart's 2nd-grade class was shocked and excited to have their principal in their room for this lesson.

Claremont's 2nd-grade hosted Rise and Shine this past Friday. They presented a poem in honor of Earth Day entitled "Recycle".
"We recycle what we use, separate things and you should too!
Glass and paper, plastic, tin go in your recycling bin!
We must start now, we can't wait, quick, or it will be too late"

At the Spring Carnival, one of the auctions featured a ride to school with our resource officer! This kindergartener was very excited to arrive at school with Officer Hagen and was more than willing to smile for the camera! It was a fun morning and one our kindergarten friend won’t soon forget!
Thank you SRO Hagen for all that you do at Claremont!

A big thank you to our partners in Education, RCB Bank. Throughout testing, they generously supply water and snacks to our Claremont students. These snacks are invaluable in refueling our kids after rigorous testing sessions and help prepare them for the next test.
Thank you , RCB Bank for your ongoing support of Claremont Elementary. Your commitment to the community and our students and staff at Claremont is truly appreciated.

Our lost and found is growing again. If you see anything that you think belongs to your child, please stop by the school to take a look.

Claremont kicked off state testing today! Several grades cheered our 3rd- graders on as they left the gym to get ready for testing. It was a fun way to start our morning and it was wonderful to see our students cheering each other to success!
With testing happening over the next few weeks, please make sure your child is getting a good nights sleep and that they are eating a healthy breakfast. Education is our ticket to success after all!

The 3rd-grade class presented our Rise and Shine last week. They recited a poem written by Shel Silverstein. Great Job, 3rd-graders!
"Listen to the MUSTN’TS, child
Listen to the DON’TS,
Listen to the SHOULDN’TS,
the IMPOSSIBLE’S, the WON’TS
Listen to the NEVER HAVES
Then listen close to me –
Anything can happen, child,
ANYTHING can be."
– Shel Silverstein

Ms. Browning's Kindergarten class is having fun learning to read! Words are written on the beach ball. When the beach ball is thrown to each child, they read the word their thumb lands on! Some kids matched their word with words on the calendar to help figure it out, while others "phoned a friend" for a little extra help!

Thank you to our 2nd-grade families for coming out to support the Fairytale Ball! The students enjoyed the opportunity to dance with their family members and create cherished memories together. Your presence added to the magic of the event, and we appreciate your ongoing support of our school community.

The Fairytale Ball made for a magical morning! Our 2nd-grade students worked hard to prepare for their two performances, and their hard work paid off! They danced, sang, and spread joy to all who were lucky enough to be in attendance! Great job, 2nd grade!
A big "Thank you" to the three women who made this day possible: Mrs. Howell, Mrs. Johnston, and Mrs. Stanart!

Our Enriched Vocabulary word this month is 'Headway,' which means forward movement or progress.

Happy National Assistant Principals Day!
What better way to celebrate the amazing Mr. Mudd than by giving him a pie in the face!
As part of our Penny Wars at the Claremont Carnival last week, one person was to be given a pie in the face at Rise and Shine this morning. Mr. Mudd was the lucky winner! Not only is he a great sport, but he is also a wonderful Assistant Principal. We are thankful for all Mr. Mudd does here at Claremont and for his commitment to our students and their education!
