We are reminiscing on this cold Tuesday morning!
Before we left for our Holiday Break, Kindergarten students celebrated Polar Express Day - with PJ's, hot cocoa, popcorn, and of course the movie: The Polar Express!
As much fun as we had before our break, and as much fun as we know you had while we were out of school, we are so happy to be back in the building with our students!

Happy New Year from Claremore Public Schools. As we enter into a new year, we all seem to take time to reflect on our lives, habits, choices from the past and contemplate how they impact our future. This reflection can lead to new inspiration, goals, resolutions, or a new focus. Instead of adding to it, some consideration may lead to removing obstacles or habits from our lives. Either way, we are all looking for a positive change.
Whether you choose a resolution, a goal, a word - we'd love for you to share it with us on our FB page and maybe inspire others.
Remember: Our students return on Tuesday, January 4th.

5th grade GT students spent their last meeting before Christmas Break playing Boggle!
The goal of this game is to find as many words as possible in a jumbled grid of 16 letters - this activity is a fun way to help students improve their vocabulary and awareness in word spelling.

Did you know that Christmas is different all over the world? Some countries celebrate Christmas in a VERY different way from how we celebrate in the United States.
3rd grade students in Mrs. Millsap's class took a trip to France to learn all about their holiday traditions. One thing they learned: France has a very yummy holiday cake called Buche De Noel!

WIN time gives students of all abilities the chance to grow to mastery in all areas of their schooling. It also gives students the ability to participate in activities that grow their confidence in other areas - like public speaking and performing.
Mrs. Ramsey's WIN group presented a Readers Theater to the whole of 2nd grade. A Readers Theater is a strategy that combines reading practice and performance. Readers theaters can enhance reading skills and confidence and develop fluency!

Steph Curry, Hurricane Katrina, The US Flag...
What do you want to know more about??
5th grade students are finishing up their informational reports on topics ranging from people to places to things! It has been quite the journey for 5th grade...choosing a topic, learning about the research process, and summarizing it into their own words for their paper, but they've done it!
Do you remember writing your first paper?

Students at Claremont had the opportunity to give back to the Officers who keep our school, streets, and city safe again this year in our Adopt a Cop program.
Classroom teachers "adopted" a police officer and together, with our amazing Claremont families, provided a basket of favorites for each officer. This is such an amazing opportunity for our students to create positive relationships with the CPD and show our officers how much we appreciate what they do for Claremore!

Have you ever heard the story of The Gingerbread Man?
Pre-K students read and discussed the sequence of events in The Gingerbread Man. Sequencing is an important foundation in teaching story elements - giving students an introductory understanding of plot and also works on reading comprehension!

We want to give a very warm welcome to Mrs. Michelle Whitlow!
"I am a Paraprofessional for Mrs. Mitchell's kindergarten class in mornings, para for Mrs. Li's pre-k class in afternoons!! I have 7 kids, my 5 oldest are in their 20's, and I have 6 year old twins and 1 granddaughter who is 4 months old! I love kids and I'm a huge fan of Mickey Mouse. We just moved to Claremore at the beginning of the year. I was born and raised in a small town in Texas where I lived for 43 years."
