In honor of National Library Workers Day, we celebrate our own Ms. Troyer.
When one of our team or students shines, we all shine, and Mrs. Troyer helps tell our story to the community. Mrs. Troyer is our "Chief Storyteller" in the library and for our school. In addition to her duties as a Library Media Specialist she serves as the Communication Cadre' sharing all the good things that happen at Claremont on our website, app, and social media.
She chooses to teach because that's what she loves to do knows there are children living lives harder than she can even imagine who need one person who lights up when they walk into the room. She strives to be that person. She strives to be a safe place for the students at Claremont.
" I chose to teach at CPS because once I met teachers and administration at Claremont, I knew that this was the place I was supposed to be. I knew that I would have the support I needed to succeed in my first year of teaching/being in the library," she shared. Even in her 3rd year, Mrs. Troyer continues to receive that same support and loves the sense of community at Claremont.

📚 THANK YOUR LIBRARIAN TODAY 📚
“A library is a good place to go when you feel unhappy, for there, in a book, you may find encouragement and comfort. A library is a good place to go when you feel bewildered or undecided, for there, in a book, you may have your question answered. Books are good company, in sad times and happy times, for books are people - people who have managed to stay alive by hiding between the covers of a book." [Letters of Note; Troy (MI, USA) Public Library, 1971]
― E.B. White
It's National Library Workers Day and we can't think of any better way to celebrate than to visit your school librarian and check out a book. I know they will have a recommendation for whatever you want to feel between the pages of a good book.
THANK YOU!!!

"I believe teachers must be held accountable to educate each and every student. This task can only be accomplished through a team effort. Meeting students' diverse needs should involve specialists and data-driven teaching that highlight best practices and lead to measurable benchmarks. Our students can thrive educationally and emotionally when they know what is expected of them and have teachers who are continually learning and growing in their learning community."

On this #wellnesswednesday, we want to share some Garden Yoga with you! Garden Yoga (or any yoga,) is great for helping children to learn to listen to their minds/bodies, self-regulate, and practice calming strategies.
Here are a few yoga poses to try out outside soon!
- Pretend to be a tree: stand on one leg, bend the other knee and place the sole of your foot on your inner thigh. Sway like a tree in the breeze.
- Pretend to be a frog: come down to a squat with knees a part and arms resting between your knees. Touch hands to the ground. Jump like a frog.
- Pretend to be a seed: sit back on your heels and bring your forehead down to rest on the floor. Pretend to be a seed in the garden.
Try these out with your child! Yoga can be great for getting re-centered!

It's so much fun to get to hear about all of the wonderful things students got to do over break, but we are so glad to have them back in the building and we are ready for a phenomenal last few weeks of school!
