Due to the continued air conditioning challenges, Claremont Elementary School students' last day of school will be tomorrow, Wednesday, May 22. This schedule adjustment applies only to Claremont Elementary. Despite this change, we still want our students to enjoy their field day and promotion ceremonies. Here are the details you need for tomorrow’s school day:
Kindergarten & 5th Grade Promotion Plans:
The Kindergarten promotion is at 8:15 AM. Doors open at 8:00 AM.
The 5th Grade promotion is at 10:00 AM. Doors open at 9:45 AM.
The ceremony will be on 5/22/24 in the Claremont gym which has air conditioning.
Parents attending promotion ceremonies must bring a state-issued ID for check-in.
Field Day Plans: Students should come prepared for outdoor activities, including wearing comfortable clothing and bringing water bottles.
Plan A: We will proceed with our outdoor field day as scheduled.
Plan B: If it rains, we will move the field day indoors to the Claremore Community Center, Claremore High School Gymnasium and/or the CPS Administration building gymnasium.
If this is required, your child’s teacher will let you know what location your child will be assigned to.
PERMISSION SLIPS ARE REQUIRED FOR OFF-CAMPUS TRANSPORTATION FOR PLAN B. Please complete this electronic permission form so we are prepared if Plan B is necessary.

Claremont Elementary will be closed tomorrow (5/21/24). Nothing is more important to us than the safety of our students and staff. Today, the air conditioner at Claremont Elementary went down. Due to the high outdoor temperatures expected tomorrow and technicians being unavailable until first thing in the morning, Claremont Elementary will be closed.
The kindergarten and fifth-grade promotion ceremonies scheduled for tomorrow have also been postponed. We will decide on rescheduling once we have a diagnosis and a plan.
We apologize for this unexpected inconvenience. Although we wish to return to class as soon as possible, please be assured that your child's health and safety are our first priority.
As we receive updates on the progress, we will post them in the news section of our website and send notifications through our mobile app.
