Last week CPS distributed 1200 boxes of food in cooperation with RCB and Go Fresh. Obviously, this could not have been accomplished without the volunteers. Thank you to the 40 RCB & CPS employees that showed up to meet our families with a smile (even if you could not see it under the masks), who waved, packed the boxes into cars, and served our community. Thank you to the organizers from RCB, @Sara Moss, and @Tim Mason. We appreciate @Midtown Rental for donating the equipment and manpower to do the “heavy lifting.” As the event unfolded and adjustments were made, @Dale Preston dropped everything he was doing, showed up 2 hours earlier than expected, stayed until CPS maintenance was able to take over, and allowed us to continue to use his equipment the entire evening. It takes a village and we are blessed to have the heart of servanthood that unites Claremore. Mercy Chefs and Volunteers For Youth are currently managing local distribution sites. This week you can pick up boxes at the Expo Center on Tuesday and Thursday from 1:30-4 PM. THIS IS OPEN TO ALL OF OUR COMMUNITY. Claremore High School is offering credit recovery in the summer using the Edgenuity software system (computer tutorial) at NO COST to parents. Any student who previously failed a core class or received an "I" during 4th block, may retake the course through this system by contacting the counselor. While our students were safe at home, many Zebra family members juggled the responsibilities of being an essential worker, parents, and teachers. Teachers balanced parenting and teaching their own children while providing instruction to the 20, 30, 50, 90 students that depended on them every day. Parents served tirelessly on the front lines in healthcare, as first responders, on cleaning crews to ensure the mitigation of this virus. Our high school students bagged the groceries, delivered our food, cashed us out at the stores that stayed open so we could buy toilet paper. WE SEE YOU! THANK YOU! https://youtu.be/-4L0vE3WwsI
