Happy World Read Aloud Day! Today, we celebrated the joy of storytelling with special moments shared between staff and their own children, as well as read-alouds in classrooms across our school! Reading aloud brings stories to life, builds connections, and inspires a love for books. Seeing our Catalayah family—both at home and in the classroom—sharing the magic of reading is what today is all about! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Hall's 1st grade class read Love Is My Favorite Thing. After reading they wrote about their favorite things! They wrote some pretty sweet stuff. We are so proud of their writing skills! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

How Sick Is Too Sick For School? Tis the season in Oklahoma - sniffling, sneezing, coughing, headache, fever, tummy aches, nausea, etc. We miss our students when absent, but sometimes they need to recover at home; how do you make that decision? CPS encourages following the Oklahoma State Department of Health guidelines. These guidelines will help the child recover and protect against the spread of illnesses to other students and staff. Remember, students/staff should only return to school after being fever-free, vomiting or diarrhea-free for 24 hours without medication. The 100th Day of School is probably one of our favorite holidays!! 😂 We dress up, do projects with 100 items, sort, count, stack 100 cups, write about when we are 100, write about if we had 100 dollars and have special treats and snacks. It really should be a holiday. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Every Wednesday, 1st and 2nd grade WIN groups join Mrs. Griffin for Writing Wednesdays! Together, they practice forming complete sentences, building strong writing skills, and working on their best handwriting. These young writers are making big strides each week, and we love seeing their creativity and confidence grow! Keep up the great work, friends! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Our January Staff Member of the Month is the amazing Mrs. Colley! Mrs. Colley pours her heart into everything she does, always going the extra mile to help our students succeed. Whether she’s lending a hand, filling in where needed, or simply sharing her warm smile, she does it all with kindness and grace. We are beyond grateful to have her as part of our Catalayah family! Weather looks great Monday for Running Club!

Our 1st graders are becoming graphing experts! They’re learning how to collect data, organize information, and make fun graphs to show what they know! Graphing helps us spot patterns, compare favorites, and even solve real-world problems—like figuring out the most popular snack in class! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Our after-school STEM Club is having a blast learning how to build roller coasters! Did you know roller coasters don’t have engines? They use gravity and energy to zoom up, down, and around loops! Engineers design every twist and turn to make sure the ride is fun and safe. Our students are using their creativity and problem-solving skills to build their own mini coasters—who knows, we might have some future theme park designers in the making! 🎡🎢 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
