CHS Introduces Partnership with RSU and New Cybersecurity Certification for Fall 2022

Claremore High School (CHS) has entered into a unique partnership with Rogers State University (RSU) to offer a concurrent Cybersecurity Certification, a collaboration of efforts to produce cybersecurity analysis with the National Security Administration. 

"I am incredibly excited about this partnership and the opportunities that it will provide for our students. Cybersecurity is a growing field with high demand in many industries both locally and nationally,” Kenneth Hindenburg, Claremore High School principal, said. “Not only will students who complete this program earn an industry-specific certificate, but they will be on track to pursue a bachelor's degree in that field as well."

The inclusion of Cybersecurity will be a powerful addition to the overall STEM curriculum.  The CHS Innovation Center, funded by the 2019 bond, opened Fall of 2021 and houses several STEM programs, including higher level math classes, digital video editing (ZTV), graphic design, robotics, BioMed sciences, and computer programming classes.  The school also offers pre-engineering on campus in cooperation with Northeast Tech.  

Assistant Professor R. Curtis Sparling will instruct this prestigious program to prepare the students for a career in a growing industry.
