Clue Into School Breakfast: Fueling Student Success Together
As educators and school staff, you see it daily - students who rely on school breakfast for the energy and focus they need to learn. Whether it's the eager faces in the cafeteria line on a Monday morning or the noticeable difference in engagement after a nutritious meal, you know firsthand that breakfast is more than just food; it’s a foundation for success.
This year’s National School Breakfast Week (NSBW) theme, “Clue Into School Breakfast,” is a chance to highlight the impact of your work and the creative solutions that help ensure more students start their day nourished and ready to learn. Research shows that students who eat breakfast:
✅ Score up to 17.5% higher on standardized math tests
✅ Attend an average of 1.5 more days of school per year
✅ Show improved concentration, memory, and alertness
Despite the advantages of having breakfast available, obstacles such as early class schedules and limited bus timetables can hinder meal access. This is why our Zebra Nutrition team is dedicated to finding solutions that meet students where they are. We are executing and exploring various options, including grab-and-go meals, second-chance breakfast opportunities, breakfast-in-the-classroom initiatives, and expanding meal programs beyond the school day.
This week, as we Clue Into School Breakfast, visit your site cafeteria (March 3-7) and "Clue into School Breakfast" with our fun menus, activities, and more!
If you have any suggestions on how we can ensure all our students get what they need, reach out to Janna Ragland. Thank you for being part of the solution!
