Ms. Loyd’s 5th graders have been hard at work learning about the effects of pollution on our Earth. Each pair of students delivered thoughtful presentations to share their knowledge and insights.
In addition, they’ve been diving into the wonders of the solar system! As part of their studies, they conducted a hands-on lab to explore the apparent brightness of the stars.
Stay tuned for the adorable and creative videos they made – you won’t want to miss them!

🌍✈️ Mrs. Griffin’s WIN groups went on a holiday adventure around the world! 🎄🎉
Each student received a passport with their picture so they can travel wherever needed!
They “visited” countries in SIX of the seven continents to learn how people celebrate this magical time of year in unique and beautiful ways. 🎅🏽✨
The students were SO excited to find out which country they’d “travel” to next, and their joy and curiosity made the holidays come alive in the classroom.
What a fun way to celebrate diversity and discover traditions from across the globe!

3rd Graders Explore History at the Will Rogers Memorial!
Our curious 3rd graders had an unforgettable trip to the Will Rogers Memorial. From learning about the life and legacy of the legendary humorist, cowboy, and actor, to exploring the beautiful memorial site, they gained a deeper appreciation for history and culture.
Here are a few fun facts our students learned about Will Rogers during the trip:
🌟 He was a world-famous cowboy, humorist, and movie star who starred in over 70 films!
🌟 Will Rogers became known for his wit and humor, often saying, "I never met a man I didn't like."
🌟 He was also an accomplished writer, publishing over 4,000 newspaper columns and several books!
🌟 Rogers was a skilled cowboy who performed tricks with his lasso, making him a popular performer at rodeos!
It was an exciting day as the students heard stories and even got to see some rope tricks.
Thank you to the Will Rogers Memorial for hosting our students and helping them step back in time!

Just wanted to share a little bit of what we’ve been up to in the computer lab! We started working with code.org in all grades and grades 2-5 are in the middle of participating in an event called hour of code. 2nd grade took part in an event where they got to use A.I. to create a super fun dance party and 3rd to 5th grade got to train A.I. to help identify what does or does not belong in an ocean! It’s been quite a fun experience so far and I think Mrs. Sargent has enjoyed it as much or if not more than they have 😁
