In Ms. Loyd's fifth grade Science class students got to participate in some hands on learning. They are learning about solids, liquids, and gases by making cornstarch mud. This mixture is fun because it feels hard like a solid when you press on it but flows like a liquid when you let go, helping them see how some materials can act like both a solid and a liquid.

We had the incredible opportunity to welcome children's author Mariana Llanos to our school! She captivated our students by reading one of her books, singing a song, and even teaching them a fun dance. Mrs. Llanos also shared an inspiring presentation about her journey as an author and connected with our students on many exciting topics. A memorable and creative experience for all!

Sue Early, the Instructional Coach from Great Expectations, visited Catalayah today to observe and train teachers. She spent time in seven classrooms, met with each grade level as a group, and discussed her observations over lunch with Mrs. Shuck and Mrs. Basks. We appreciate Sue's time, insights, and dedication to supporting our teachers by answering questions and providing guidance.

If you haven't filled out the paperwork and paid for your students device please do so today. It's and easy 3 step process from your Campus Parent App to get everything completed.
1. fill out the meal benefit application
2. once that has been processed you will need to fill out the device protection plan
3. after those 2 are complete it will show you on your parent app what you need to pay for your childs device. After that is paid- you are done!!!

Mrs. Roller's 1st grade class ended their lesson on labeling this week with learning all about apples. They read about Johnny Appleseed, discovered the parts of an apple, and then made and labeled their own! 🍎
