Everyone’s favorite furry friend, PawLea, has been busy at Catalayah! She’s been visiting classrooms, joining in on lessons, and even snuggling up to listen to stories. 📚✨ A big thank you to Darlene and Volunteers for Youth for bringing PawLea several days a week—our students light up when she walks through the door! Therapy dogs like PawLea make such a difference in elementary schools. They help students feel calm, build confidence while reading, and spread so much joy wherever they go. We sure are lucky to have Darlene and PawLea as part of our school family! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Ms. Johnson’s class had a blast with group spelling challenges! Teams worked together, cheered each other on, and showed that spelling is more fun when it’s a team sport. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

🍭🎉 Mrs. Douthitt’s kindergarten class has been showing AMAZING behavior, and they earned a Popsicle Party to celebrate! ❤️ They worked hard to earn 20 compliments, filling their Star Jar with marbles each time they were recognized for making great choices. 🙌 Way to go, Kindergarten! We’ve started something new this year at Catalayah — Classroom Buddies! Older classes are paired with younger classes to build friendships, encourage each other, and make special memories throughout the year. ❤️ Last week, Mrs. Geranen’s 3rd graders surprised Mrs. Hall’s 1st graders with some adorable encouraging notes before their spelling test. ✏️📚 The smiles say it all! We are excited to see how our classroom buddies this year!! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Students have started checking out books in the library!!! What an exciting time as our shelves come to life with new adventures, mysteries, and stories waiting to be discovered! Please be sure to return library books each week during library time so students can keep exploring new ones. 🐛📖 After all, an elementary library is like a treasure chest—every book opens the door to a brand-new adventure! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Ms. Toops’ 4th grade math class had a blast playing Multiplication Wars last week! 🙌✨ This fast-paced card game is the perfect way to sharpen those multiplication facts while having fun. Who knew practicing math could feel like a battle of the brains? #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
