Mrs. Griffin visited a few classes for a hands-on science lesson all about clouds and rain! Students learned how clouds form when warm air rises, cools, and condenses into tiny water droplets. When those droplets join together and get too heavy—down comes the rain! It was an exciting, interactive way to bring weather science to life. 🎉💿 As if we could forget this week! 💿🎉 Our PTO has totally spoiled us for Teacher Appreciation Week and we are feeling all the love! 💖 🕶️ They kicked things off with a nacho bar on Monday that was all that and a bag of chips! 🥤 Tuesday, they rolled in with Sonic drinks for every staff member—talk about a major upgrade from our usual sips! 🍭 Then on Wednesday, they dropped off some far-out 90’s snacks that took us straight back to the good old days! Ring Pops, Gushers, Dunkaroos—you name it! But wait—there’s more! Our amazing PTO came up this weekend to decorate the school with the most righteous 90s vibes. From neon colors to boom boxes, it was a total blast from the past. 🛼 THANK YOU, PTO! You’ve made this week da bomb and we’ve loved every single second of it! Speaking of babies… look at these adorable little ones that recently hatched right here at Catalayah! Our students have loved watching their feathered families waddle around campus and even take a dip in the pond. Nature has truly been the best classroom! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

We have chicks! Ms. Henry’s eggs have officially hatched, and her classroom is full of fluffy new arrivals. She started with 18 eggs, carefully incubated them, and lovingly cared for them every step of the way. Once they hatched, she took the adorable chicks on a school-wide tour so all the students could meet the newest members of our Catalayah family! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Cole and her morning Pre-K class took storytime outdoors and enjoyed their book in the gazebo! There’s nothing better than a good book and a breeze—reading outside makes every page feel like an adventure! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Griffin’s first grade WIN groups just wrapped up an exciting cross-curricular unit all about the seasons! Students discovered why we have spring, summer, fall, and winter by exploring the science behind Earth’s tilt and orbit. Along the way, they sharpened their reading and writing skills too—proving that learning can be as fun as a sunny spring day! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Today is the LAST day students can charge meals in the cafeteria. Starting tomorrow, students must have money on their account to receive a regular lunch.
