🚒🔥*Fire Safety Day at Catalayah!* 🔥🚒 Today, we had an exciting visit from the Claremore Fire Department! They gave an amazing presentation on fire safety, brought their awesome inflatable house, and showcased a few of their impressive trucks. 🚒 Ask your kids about what they learned—it was packed with essential tips! They discussed the importance of smoke alarms, what to do when one goes off, and taught the classic "Stop, Drop, and Roll" technique for clothing fires. They also introduced the concept of a safety spot—a safe place to meet outside in case of a fire at home. Many of our students were learning some of these life-saving tips for the first time! Mrs. Griffin's 1st grade WIN groups had a fun and educational week reading *The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin*! After diving into the story, they explored nouns and verbs, identified the beginning, middle, and end, and discussed the problem and solution. To wrap up the lesson, each student got creative and made their very own Spookley pumpkin! 🎃📚 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

The 37th Annual Rotary Chili Supper benefitting the Claremore Public Schools Foundation is Friday, November 1st from 5-7 pm (or until we sell out) at the football stadium. 7 tickets can be purchased at the gate and will include chili, Fritos, water, and a Chick-fil-A cookie! Halloween is next week!!! We love seeing all the costumes but here are a few reminders about what is appropriate for school. No fake blood, weapons, facemask, or face paint or blow up costumes. Students need to be able to sit at their desks. Also, please don't send the costume props to school with your child. They usually get lost or broken. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

🎃🍂 Our kindergarteners had a blast on their first-ever field trip to the pumpkin patch! From hay rides and navigating the corn maze to bouncing on the giant pillow and feeding the farm animals, it was a day full of smiles and fall fun! 🍁🍂 They even wrapped up the adventure with a picnic lunch under the autumn sky. These little Zebras made unforgettable memories today! 🐾🎉 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

🦇 3rd grade is going a little batty this October! 🦇 Mrs. Castle's class dove into some fascinating bat stories and shared their favorite bat facts in creative paragraphs. Afterward, they painted stunning sunsets, practiced their listening skills with a fun directed drawing, and wrapped it all up with an adorable math project! Using 3-digit addition and subtraction, they crafted their very own "math bats" — a perfect blend of learning and creativity! 🦇🎨✏️ #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

🎉 In PE, it was Octopus Tag time! 🐙🏃‍♂️ Here's how the game works: 1️⃣ Two lucky students start as the "Octopus" in the middle of the gym. 2️⃣ The rest of the students line up at one end, ready to race across when the octopus yells "OCTOPUS!" 3️⃣ As they dash across, the octopus chases them—if you're tagged, you freeze in place and become... seaweed! 🌿 Arms out, feet stuck! But the best part? Coach Hughes and his awesome intern, Coach H, even joined in as octopuses themselves! 🐙🤩 Fun was had by all!
