Our young scientists have been busy! This week Ms. Loyd's 5th grade Science classes dove into the scientific method—asking questions, making predictions, testing ideas, and sharing results. Students also explored the different tools scientists use, from magnifying glasses and rulers to beakers and thermometers, and talked about how each one helps us gather data and make discoveries. Curiosity + creativity = science in action! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Our 3rd–5th graders have been busy little artists! They created their very own color wheels, learning how to mix primary colors with crayons and colored pencils to discover brand-new shades. 🌈🖍️ We love watching their creativity shine as they explore the magic of colors! 💛💙❤️

Our Catalayah Fundraiser has officially kicked off!
We had an awesome start this morning at Rise & Shine, and students brought home their fundraiser packets today.

✨ The best part? You can also shop online, and all items will be shipped directly to you!

👑 Even more exciting—this year’s Top Boy & Girl Sellers will earn a special spot on our Homecoming Court as Prince & Princess! This honor only comes around once every 4 years, so let’s make it big!

🗓 The fundraiser ends September 19th and winners will be announced on September 22nd!

🦓❤️ Catalayah has heart from stripes to stripes! ❤️🦓 Since the very first days of school, Mrs. Ratcliff has been leading our Zebras in a building-wide art project. Pre-K through 5th grade students and staff each created their own one-of-a-kind heart using their unique creativity. 🎨✨ That’s over 500 hearts that came together to form one BIG Catalayah masterpiece! 🖼️💕 A huge thank you to Mrs. Ratcliff for bringing us all together and making Catalayah a place full of creativity, color, and love! 🦓💖 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Expectation #4: We will cheer each other to success! 🥳 If your student visits the library this week, not only did they get to check out their first book, they competed in their first library challenge-Rock, Paper, Scissors, Shoot! 📢 As we wrap up our second week of school, here are a few quick reminders to help mornings run smoothly:

🚪 Doors open at 7:25 AM.
⏰ East doors close at 7:50 AM.

🚗 At the east drop-off line:

If you’re next to the sidewalk, your child may safely exit the car.

If you’re not against the sidewalk, please wait until you reach the crosswalk to let your child out.

📝 After 7:50 AM, students must be signed in at the office by a parent/guardian.
