Zebra Family, The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. Please be assured that CPS is closely monitoring the weather forecast. All sites have reviewed our safety protocols. We understand that parents/guardians may want to pick up their children through the proper channels. If you choose to do so, this will be an excused absence. However, we do not want to send children home without supervision; therefore, our buses will not run early. If the weather changes and we must delay the buses, we will notify you as soon as possible through the CPS Mobile App and the Stopfinder App.

Claremont's skate night was a wheel-y good time! 🎉 CPS loves finding ways to connect our amazing staff, students, and families, and this event was a perfect chance to build relationships outside the classroom. Seeing everyone skating, laughing, and having a wheel-y great time reminds us just how special our CPS community is! 🥰 CPS schools PreK - 8th grades have very active PTOs. Ask a staff member about your school's organization if you want to get involved. #cpszebrapride

🦇 3rd Graders Are Batty for Learning! 🦇 Mrs. Castle’s class had a blast going a little batty this October! The students dived into fascinating bat facts, learning cool things like how bats are the only mammals that can truly fly and that some bats can eat over 1,000 bugs every night—keeping our skies bug-free! 🌌 After exploring bat stories and sharing their favorite facts in creative paragraphs, they painted beautiful sunset scenes, practiced listening skills with a fun directed-drawing, and wrapped up the day with a bat-tastic math project! Using 3-digit addition and subtraction, they created their own “math bats,” making learning fun and spooky! 🦇🎨✏️

Mr. Riggs engages his students with hands-on learning through heart dissections and full fetal pig autopsies. These activities allow students to thoroughly explore anatomy, gaining practical insights into organ systems and biological functions. By working directly with specimens, students develop a deeper understanding of physiology and sharpen their scientific skills.

In Ms. Fudge’s class, students experienced the power of uplifting one another during a team-building exercise. By working together and showing encouragement, they learned how positivity and support can strengthen a team. This activity ties perfectly into our Great Expectations Life Principles of kindness, cooperation, and respect, reminding us that when we lift each other up, we all rise together. Let’s continue to build each other up and spread kindness throughout our school! #cpszebrapride

The U.S. Army brought AS11, a remarkable 64-foot, 30-ton tractor-trailer, to our school, allowing students to participate in Operation Firebreak. This immersive experience used eight virtual reality helicopter stations, where students teamed up to tackle forest fires. Equipped with Oculus headsets and motion-actuating chairs, the simulation provided a thrilling and realistic glimpse into the challenges pilots face. This visit showcased the Army’s innovative approach to engaging and educating our community through cutting-edge technology. Experiences like these give our students a more realistic view of the possibilities they have for their future through the armed forces. We may have a few helicopter pilots in our midst! #cpszebrapride
