In Ms. Dooley's STEM Class during the week of Halloween, her 6th-grade students participated in multiple spooky-themed activities. Catalayah’s 5th graders had an insightful visit from Mr. Vaughn with the City of Claremore’s Storm Water Department!🌧 He shared how stormwater—runoff from rain and snow that flows over surfaces like streets and parking lots—can pick up pollutants such as trash, oils, and chemicals, impacting our rivers, lakes, and water supply. At Westside Elementary, Ms. Palmer's third graders read their story of the week with a buddy and helped "coach" each other when they got stuck or needed help. Introducing Chef Ryan Dunlap! 🦓👨‍🍳 Chef Dunlap regularly visits each school, bringing fun new foods to try, exhibition cooking, and more! Since joining the Zebra family, he loves “how friendly everyone is, and that they’re all so happy to be here.” He began his cooking career as a child, sitting on the counter helping his mom make dinners and desserts. He is excited about the new program and enjoys bringing thrilling and fun things to the different schools! Chef Ryan’s Favorites: 🎬: Spider-Man and Star Wars 📕: “Ready Player One” and “The Mountain is You” 🍔: Pizza and Cheeseburgers 🏄: In his freetime, Chef Ryan enjoys walking Downtown Tulsa or the Gathering Place. His favorite thing to cook is seared halibut with a buttered lemon cream sauce on a bed of rice, spinach, kale mix, with a side of hot honey glazed carrots. 🚂 Claremore Welcomes Big Boy 4014! 🚂 Kids in Claremore grow up seeing trains every day, but this day was special as you can see from all the smiles. Claremore had the distinct honor of welcoming Union Pacific’s iconic locomotive, Big Boy 4014, back to our community. Many of our teachers took students on a field trip to experience this impressive piece of history up close, and the excitement was unforgettable, with smiles all around. This was a proud moment for our city, as Claremore was officially named a Train Town, USA. #cpszebrapride

Mrs. Meyers's second-grade WIN group read After the Fall: How Humpty Dumpty Got Back Up Again by Dan Santat. They studied the book's vocabulary, themes, and illustrations throughout the week. They also used their powers of prediction to guess how the story would end. Humpty Dumpty uses determination to build a perfect paper airplane so they had a little fun making and flying our own! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
