Claremore Public Schools is proud to announce that Alana Brady, an 8th-grade Will Rogers Junior High student, has achieved an extraordinary milestone in the 2024 JOM (Johnson-O'Malley) Art Competition. Out of more than 1,000 entries representing 31 schools statewide, Alana's artwork not only earned 1st place in the 7th & 8th Grade Division for the Pencil, Charcoal, Pastel, Colored Pencil, Crayon, and Marker categories but her piece was also selected as Best of Show across all first-place winners in the competition! Alana’s talent and dedication to her craft were guided by Jessica Vann and Tama Breen, her art teachers at Will Rogers Junior High, who have consistently fostered creativity and artistic excellence in her students. This prestigious award speaks volumes about the vibrant arts program at Claremore Public Schools and the incredible potential of its students. The JOM Art Competition is a highly respected showcase of student creativity, celebrating cultural heritage and artistic expression. Alana’s winning piece stood out for its originality, technique, and emotional impact, making her the top honoree among hundreds of talented young artists across Oklahoma. Here’s a glimpse into what’s been happening in the computer lab at Catalayah Elementary! 💻✨ All grades have been diving into coding! Our 2nd graders used A.I. to create an epic dance party, while 3rd-5th graders trained A.I. to identify what belongs in the ocean. 🌊🤖 These fun, hands-on activities are building essential skills in coding, problem-solving, and A.I.—preparing our students for the future! 😁 #CPSZebraPride

In case you missed it, our Claremore Zebra Wrestling hosted the annual Donnie Morgan Dual Tournament, welcoming teams from Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, and new friends from Illinois! The Zebras competed fiercely and finished the tournament with a perfect 9-0 record, bringing their season record to an impressive 14-0. 🏆🦓💪🏽 They are now 3x Donnie Morgan Dual Tournament Champions! 💪🏽 Way to go, Zebras! #CPSZebraPride

Roosa Elementary 3rd grader, Rori Williams, was in the Tulsa Ballet Nutcracker! She landed the role of hawk sweet. This was her second year in the production. Catalayah Elementary Native American Club finished creating beautiful gourd ornaments! These handcrafted ornaments are made from dried gourds, a traditional material used in many Native cultures for art and utility. Each piece is unique, showcasing the creativity of our students. What a meaningful way to celebrate culture and artistry! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

At Roosa Elementary, Mrs. Mann's second-grade class read the story "Snowflake Bentley" and explored the uniqueness of snowflakes. They then created their own snowmen using special snowman kits. Just like snowflakes, each snowman was unique and different! #roosarocks #cpszebrapride
