Let’s welcome Mrs. Michelle Armstrong to the Zebra family in today’s New Teacher Feature! Mrs. Armstrong is a teacher at the Claremore Learning Center. She graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University with a Bachelor of Science. She is a 1998 Claremore High School Alumni! When asked why she chose to teach at Claremore Public Schools, she said, “This is home! I grew up in Claremore, went to school here, and want to continue to pour into my community! I want to make learning fun for all students and support them to believe in themselves and their dreams. Also, to show them that they can still achieve those dreams no matter when they figure out what they want to do.” Some interesting facts about Mrs. Armstrong are she loves reading, watching movies (musicals especially), crocheting, horseback riding, and crafts! She is married to Erik, and they have 2 children, 4 dogs, and livestock! At the Junior High, Ms. Fudge's class talked about legends, folklore, and fairytales within Greek mythology. 🔱🦓⚡ They then played the telephone game as a way to show that stories that are told by word of mouth can change and adapt over time! What a fun classroom and life lesson!🔱🦓⚡ #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Let’s welcome Mrs. Terri Tugmon to the Zebra family in today’s New Teacher Feature! Mrs. Tugmon is an 8th grade Math teacher at Will Rogers Junior High. She graduated from Northeastern State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She has taught for a total of 34 years and has taught many subjects in her time in education! When asked what she likes about Claremore Public Schools most, she said, “The way everyone works together to make it awesome for the kids. I love that it is a GE School, and the feeling when I walked into the school was amazing! My daughter taught here, and she loved it! ” She feels teaching is a calling in her life and knows it is her purpose! She shared, “I love being with kids and seeing the light come on, so to speak. It gives me so much joy to know that I have made a difference in their lives!” Some interesting facts about Mrs. Tugmon are that she is a pilot and is in the process of earning her CFII to teach others to fly. She rides motorcycles with her family, and she loves to camp. She has been married to her bff/husband for 53 years, and they have grown twin daughters and 6 grandchildren who are also grown! They all live together on 190 acres! She shared, “My husband and I are pilots, and our daughters and 4 grandbabies are also training to get their pilot licenses. I am the one who is training all of them. Let’s welcome Ms. Dana Browning to the Zebra family in today’s New Teacher Feature! Ms. Browning is a Kindergarten teacher at Claremont Elementary. She graduated from Northeastern State University with a Bachelor of Special Education and a Masters in Education. She has taught for a total of 32 years and held many positions in her time in education! When asked what she likes about Claremore Public Schools most, she said, “The welcoming family atmosphere with a positive climate. It is evident that the children come first.” She has wanted to be a teacher since she was 8 years old, and one of her favorite parts of her job is seeing the excitement when they learn new concepts. Some interesting facts about Ms. Browning are she has climbed Mount Fiji and loves to read, travel, and theater. She is also an usher at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center! She graduated from Oklahoma Christian University with a Bachelor of Science in Creative Media. When asked what she likes most about Claremore Public Schools, she said, “The community and how our educators strive to create an environment of inclusivity and fun for our kids. I want to simply be a positive influence to help them grow and learn.” Some interesting facts about Mrs. Ihle are that she recently moved back to the U.S. from Germany and once was within 5 feet of King (then Prince) Charles in London! She loves fitness (particularly her Peloton), International Travel, and Baking! Let’s welcome Mrs. Karisa Morgan back to the Zebra family in today’s New Teacher Feature! Mrs. Morgan is one of the counselors at Claremore High School. She graduated from Rogers State University with a Bachelor of Science in Community Counseling and is currently pursuing her Master of Science in School Counseling from Northeastern State University. She also graduated from Claremore in 2016! When asked what she likes most about Claremore Public Schools, she said, “My favorite thing about CPS is the family-oriented community and collaboration between staff members to ensure student's needs are met. One of my favorite things is the BISS program which brought more mental health workers inside of our schools to help students even more. Being a counselor means I can work with students to reach their goals by providing guidance and resources. It is okay to need help, and no one should struggle alone. School can be tough, confusing, and draining, and by providing academic guidance and tools for success, counselors have the ability to make it a little better. It takes a village to work with young people, and CPS definitely helps provide that village. ” Some interesting facts about Karisa are she loves to be creative, design things, do crafts with her kids, and collect antiques! She met her husband, Tracy, in high school, and are both CHS graduates.
