The Board of Trustees for the Claremore Public Schools Foundation (CPSF) is thrilled to announce that Shanna O’Shields has accepted the invitation to serve as the organization’s new Executive Director, effective June 1, 2021.

A graduate of Claremore High School as well as the University of Oklahoma, Ms. O’Shields’ extensive experience in both education and the nonprofit sector were major considerations in the Board’s decision. “We’re excited for the experience that Shanna brings and know she’ll excel in enriching the quality of education in Claremore Public Schools,” said Dr. Steve Hardage, CPSF Board President. Josh Davis, incoming CPSF Board President for the 2021-2022 academic year, echoed the board’s excitement, saying “We believe Shanna’s unique mix of fundraising experience in the nonprofit sector coupled with her passion for education can propel our Foundation forward in the years to come. Shanna’s fresh perspective and new approach will allow us to more substantially enrich the educational experience for students throughout the district.”

Her background in public relations, marketing, event planning, and fund development makes O’Shields an ideal candidate for this position. She is passionate about the mission of the Claremore Public Schools Foundation, while the Board is confident that her strategic and engaging leadership approach will bring innovative ideas to the Foundation and community.

“I’m honored to fill the role of Executive Director for the Claremore Public Schools Foundation,” says Ms. O’Shields. “This position is the perfect combination of two of my passions — education and nonprofit work. I am looking forward to collaborating with the Board to continue to enrich the lives of students in Claremore Public Schools. I’m excited to bring my vision and experience to this position.”

Prior to joining CPSF, Ms. O’Shields spent 15 years in education, seven of those years as a school administrator. Most recently, she served at Sharing Life Community Outreach, a large nonprofit located in Dallas, TX, that serves as a HUB for the North Texas Food Bank. Ms. O’Shields and her husband of 20 years, Jeff, have relocated from Heath, TX with their children Haven, 14, and Lincoln, 18 months. CPSF is happy to welcome them to Claremore!
