Claremore Public School Celebrates School Board Recognition Month
The Claremore Public School (CPS) District joins school districts throughout Oklahoma to celebrate School Board Recognition Month, Superintendent Bryan Frazier announced.
"Our school board members are volunteers who shoulder critical responsibilities and often make difficult choices for our District, all without pay. Their goal focuses on the future success of the children in our District," Superintendent Frazier said. "Celebrating School Board Recognition Month is one way to say thanks for all they do."
School board members serve as a link between the community and classroom and are elected to establish the policies and provide direction for the District.
Serving CPS are Ward 1 - Rick Mosier, Ward 2 - Chelsea Mize, Ward 3 - Patrick Gotcher, Ward 4 - Rod Henry, and Ward 5 - Shane Huey. CPS usually hosts a public reception at the January Board meeting; however, like most things due to COVID 19, the annual celebration took a more intimate approach. Board members shared a socially distanced meal and were presented with some tokens of appreciation.
It's more important than ever before that communities support public education so that today's students are prepared to be productive citizens and tomorrow's leaders. Please take a moment and tell school board members' thanks for caring about our children and giving so much to our community.' Let them know we support them and that their dedicated service is recognized and truly appreciated," Superintendent Frazier said.
This week we will feature each of our board members on our platforms.
