Serving so many of our Claremore Public School families this Thanksgiving was a true joy. From seeing the smiles of children holding hands with parents or grandparents in line to watching former students return as volunteers to share love with younger kids, we were reminded of our community's deep connections.
One moment that stood out was watching an entire family, who is currently living in a hotel, enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal—likely their only one this year. Another heartwarming sight was a high school boy comforting a kindergartner who could barely speak English, offering a kindness that bridged a gap. And the gratitude from grandparents, who came to personally thank us for creating memories with their grandchildren, touched our hearts.
With over 1,550 family guests served, these moments, among many others, remind us why we do what we do. It honestly took a village—Zebra Nutrition staff, District staff, teacher volunteers, and our amazing PTO parents—to come together and create an unforgettable experience for our students and their families.
Was it hard - YES! Was it worth it - YES! Was it everything we value - YES!
