Claremore, OK – July 8, 2024—Claremore Public Schools (CPS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Kenneth Hindenburg as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) following the retirement of Duwayne King. Dr. Hindenburg brings a robust blend of educational leadership and financial insight to this pivotal role, reflecting his commitment to enhancing the educational experience for all students.

Becoming CFO allows my passion for education, students, and, yes, math to make a profound impact on the learning opportunities at CPS. It's not about the dollars and cents, but managing them with integrity to leverage the greatest outcomes for our students and community,” said Dr. Hindenburg.
Dr. Hindenburg's extensive background includes serving as Principal, Assistant Principal and Mathematics Teacher at Claremore High School. In addition, for the past 15 years, he has assisted small businesses with their IT needs, from building networks to navigating cyberattacks. He has strong ties to the community, has served in his church, and has held positions on the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Claremore Hillcrest Hospital Board of Directors, and the RSU Department of Technology and Justice Advisory Board.
Dr. Hindenburg’s comprehensive understanding of budgeting, fiscal responsibility, educational technology, and instructional staff needs positions him well to spearhead the district's financial operations, aligning with our core values of grit, community, innovation, purpose, and excellence. He holds a Ph.D. in Educational Administration, Curriculum, and Supervision from the University of Oklahoma. In addition, he also has a Bachelors in Organismic Biology and a Masters in Science Education from Northeastern State University. His educational certifications include Biological Sciences, Physical Science, Chemistry, Advanced Mathematics, Secondary Principal and Superintendent.
Dr. Hindenburg is excited to continue his journey with CPS, where he started as a student in 1993. He and his wife, Whitney, graduated from Claremore High School in 2007. He is proud to be a third-generation Zebra. The Hindenburgs have three boys, one of whom is school-age and started his Zebra career in 2022. With deep roots in the community, the Hindenburgs continue to plant roots that will cultivate strong growth in our district.
