➡Next Steps: Undecided

📚Field of Studies: Elementary Education

🦓Zebra Since: Freshman Year

🔴What advice would you give your freshman self? It is completely fine to have differing opinions from those around you, and it can even be healthy. You do not have to change your convictions simply because they are not popular.

🔴What has this journey taught you about yourself? This high school journey has taught me that I do not need to change who God created me to be, simply to fit in better with those around me.

🔴What were the hardest challenges you had to overcome to achieve this honor? The hardest challenge that I have had to overcome is my time management skills, as I am prone to procrastination. I have come to realize that spreading work out over a few days is more beneficial in the long run than trying to finish all of my work in one night.

🔴What does this accomplishment mean to you? This accomplishment is evidence that I have worked hard in high school, and that my efforts are not in vain, encouraging me to keep my aspirations high.

🔴What are you most proud of in your high school career? I am most proud of myself for venturing into something new by participating in the music classes that CHS has to offer. I have always challenged myself academically, but through this, have been forced to be uncomfortable in my own skin as I am surrounded by so many other talented singers.

🔴Looking back on your school experience at CPS, what does being a Zebra mean to you? Being a Zebra is always having someone there to support you and help you in any and every way.

🔴What elementary staff member made the biggest impact on your life, and how? The elementary staff member that has made the biggest impact on my life would have to be my mom, as I was homeschooled. She taught me patiently and lovingly and instilled my passion for learning. She is a constant supporter of my decisions and encourages me to venture out and challenge myself in different areas.

🔴What junior high staff member made the biggest impact on your life, and how? The junior high staff member that has made the biggest impact on my life is Mr. Reagan. He encouraged me to formulate my own opinions and consider all of the facts before simply believing everyone around me. He challenged me to work hard for my successes instead of just stumbling into them, and he provided a place to have fun and think freely at school.

🔴What high school staff member made the biggest impact on your life, and how? The high school staff member who has made the biggest impact on my life is Mr. Cummings because he not only encourages open-mindedness but exercises it himself. The world is not black and white, but sometimes, I feel pressured to see it that way. However, Mr. Cummings has demonstrated that it is acceptable to see shades of gray and to change my opinions, which has been a valuable lesson in my latter years of high school.

🔴What activities have you been involved in? AP/Pre-AP Programs, Academic Team, Book Club, Christian Club, Mixed Choir, Room 701 Jazz Ensemble, FUZE, Math Club, Native American Student Association, and the National Honor Society

🔴What is the one thing you will absolutely take with you to college? The lesson I have learned on realizing the importance of good friends.
