🔴What advice would you give your freshman self? I would tell myself that even though things seemed difficult and boring, I should keep my friends close and look forward to the future.
🔴What has this journey taught you about yourself? This journey allowed me to find something that I love to do and proved that all of the hard work is worth having a future career I am passionate about.
🔴What were the hardest challenges you had to overcome to achieve this honor? The biggest challenge was definitely trying to find out what I wanted to do with my future. It can be hard to find a reason to work so hard if you don’t know what you’re working hard for, but once I found something that I love, it all seems worth it.
🔴What does this accomplishment mean to you? Becoming a Salutatorian means that all of my hard work through high school paid off, and allows me to take a step back and really see what I was able to do.
🔴What are you most proud of in your high school career? I am most proud of the work that I did during Oklahoma! The Musical because I really discovered my love for technical theater. I put my all into every bit of work that I did and the outcome was so amazing.
🔴Looking back on your school experience at CPS, what does being a Zebra mean to you? I think that being a Zebra means always having a teacher around that understands you and can motivate you. Each year I had someone who really made me give it my all.
🔴What elementary staff member made the biggest impact on your life, and how? Mrs. Crutchfield at Catalayah was such an amazing teacher. She really made class fun, and knew exactly how to handle me when I was way too talkative.
🔴What junior high staff member made the biggest impact on your life, and how? At the junior high, Coach Knoke was such a great teacher and coach. I always felt so excited to go into his class, and learning history never felt boring. I was able to learn through fun conversations and projects with my friends.
🔴What high school staff member made the biggest impact on your life, and how? Mr. Pike helped me discover my love for technical theater. I can’t thank him enough because I don’t know what I would be doing in life after high school if I had never found this passion.
🔴What activities have you been involved in? AP/Pre-AP Programs, Art Club, Robotics, Young Dems, Improv, the Dead Poets Society, and Astronomy Club.
🔴What is the one thing you will absolutely take with you to college? Since I can’t take one of my cats with me, I hope that I am able to keep my ability to see past what’s going on and work hard for my future.
