What has this journey taught you about yourself? This journey has taught me that perseverance and determination are vital things to hold onto in life. Having those two things with me through every tough class or challenge made me continue to want to succeed and finish every goal I set.
🔴 What does this accomplishment mean to you? This accomplishment showcases how my hard work paid off. I am proud to be a salutatorian with my classmates and best friends who I have also seen work very hard themselves and with me to accomplish this.
Looking back on your school experience at CPS what does being a Zebra mean to you? Being a Zebra to me means always welcoming all people and serving in any way I can.
What staff member impacted your life most in elementary school? Mrs. Toops at Catalayah
What staff member impacted your life most in junior high? Mrs. McQueen and Mrs. Crabtree
What staff member impacted your life most in high school? Mr. Riggs
What is the ONE thing you absolutely take with you to college? The study habits I acquired from this high school
What activities you have been involved in? AP / Pre-AP Programs, Cross Country, Track, Softball, Tennis, Chemistry Club, Christian Club, FUZE, Math Club / Mu Alpha Theta, National Honor Society, Red Army, SADD, Student Council, World Language Club, ZUAC, Work Experience / Shadow / Internship (Career Development Program).
What was the hardest part (challenges) you had to overcome to achieve this honor? Starting my sophomore year at a brand-new school was definitely a challenge. Getting new classes and even a new way of doing school with block scheduling should've made it very difficult. However, the people here made it very enjoyable and easy to get through. Though many people would have just watched me receive no help, that wasn't the case when I first came here. The amount of help and love I have received from this school is very impactful and I am forever grateful to everybody I have had the privilege of meeting and knowing.
What are you most proud of in your high school career? I am most proud of the work I have been able to put into this school. From joining NHS and helping raise money for fundraisers such as ZUAC and raising money for the teachers to even just running and getting copies for my teachers, I am very happy and proud of the time just spent here at Claremore.
