Mrs. James has been teaching her 5th grade students how to build and control robots! These Westies displayed amazing teamwork and support. They built robots with legos, connected the robot to the usb, then coded its colors, sounds, and movements. Very impressive! 🤖

Mrs. Frost helped her amazing fourth graders review for their math test with a glow day! Bottle flipping, bowling, tic-tac-toe, Jenga, and ring toss were integrated into the learning activities. These bright minds loved this review process!

Mr. McClurg is working with third grade students on creating beautiful pottery! These Westies are utilizing tools to add their intricate designs on the clay. We can't wait to see how these turn out!

Ms. Barlow provides many tools to assist with learning. Her students especially love guided reading strips! These tools assist by focusing on the specific lines of the text that are being read. We are so appreciative of Ms. Barlow and her impact throughout the building.

Mrs. Hink's fifth grade students recently simulated how the colonists felt about the taxes King George III put on the colonists. Mrs. Hink placed taxes on things that went along with the tea act, sugar act, quartering act, and stamp act to fit the set up in a modern day classroom. They also participated in a mini readers theater beforehand. This helped students understand the frustrations the colonists were feeling. This looks like a lesson they'll never forget.

Mrs. Whitaker's pre-k students have been making observations and checking the progress of their caterpillars. They're currently making webs, and will soon show these sweet young Westsiders all about the the life cycle of butterflies.🐛🦋

A veterinary pet hospital recently opened in Mrs. Sweet's class! These 3rd grade veterinarians worked so hard on each of their pet cases. Students completed a reading and math activity, with each case. They practiced reading skills and solved multi-step word problems, with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division! Of course they had to walk their dogs at the end of the day. 🐩 🐕
