While playing on the playground, one of our westie besties found a heart-shaped rock! Much like kindness, this rock is a simple yet powerful discovery that brightens one's day. Just as stumbling upon the rock brings a smile, acts of kindness can uplift and leave a lasting impression. Both serve as reminders that even the smallest gestures can shape moments and hearts in meaningful ways, creating a ripple effect of positivity. #ThrowKindnessAroundLikeConfetti #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Performing for our Westside students, CHS showcased a play titled “Bamboozled.” The theatrical production aimed to captivate and entertain the audience, creating a shared experience for both the performers and their younger counterparts. The play featured the talents of these high school students, bringing a creative and engaging performance to the Westside community! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

In STEM with Mrs. Hall, 2nd grade worked on programming robots, drawing routes the robots are programmed to follow. They also created obstacle courses and followed detailed instructions to create stem based structures. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Johnson's class had their monthly visit from our amazing couselor, Mrs. Lyons. Mrs. Lyons teaches social emotional lessons to every class at Westside. Students worked in groups problem solving over the topic of personal boundaries. Everyone was incredibly thoughtful and hardworking.🥰

In Mrs. Palmer’s class, a fabulous fourth grader took on the role of guest reader, showcasing her reading skills with her favorite book! The classroom was filled with attentiveness and curiosity as the young reader confidently engaged peers in the story. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Teachers and staff were pleasantly surprised as they received donuts from Mr. Don McGuire, a high support of Westside, teachers and staff. The gesture served as a simple yet meaningful token of appreciation, emphasizing the value placed on the efforts of the school's dedicated team. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

It's finally December and Christmas is in the air!! In fact, our fabulous fourth graders were surprised by Christmas magic this morning!!

Monday kicks off Westside’s countdown to Christmas!! Students and staff can spread holiday cheer by dressing up in quirky outfits that range from classic ugly sweater to Grinch-themed attire! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Sander's class explored a story about planting seeds of kindness! The students then shared their beautiful ideas on how they can grow those kindness seeds everyday, demonstrating commitment to cultivating compassion within our community!

Fifth grade students recently participated in Biztown elections. These Westies campained, designed posters, and candidates gave their final speeches. Westside 5th grade students will join local school districts at Biztown to build junior academic and economic success. These students took a lot of time and effort in preparing for these elections. We are so proud of all the dedication these students have shown. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

School fundraising is never an easy task, but our Westies always give their best effort! Westside would like to recognize and celebrate our top two winners, Finley Faulconer and Dallas White. These two were thrilled to pie the principals and spin the Wheel of Fun. The money raised from this fundraiser will go to supporting Westside.
