All Claremore Public Schools offices and campuses will be closed for Presidents Day on Monday, February 21, 2022. The child nutrition team will move the distribution of meals from Monday to Tuesday the 22nd.

Mrs. Newman's kindergarten class enjoyed some Valentines Centers earlier this week. They played Valentine's minute to win it games. They were picking up gummies with chopsticks, stacking conversation hearts, rolling dice and counting Hershey kisses into a cup, and balancing conversation hearts on popsicle sticks.

Mrs. Shuck and Mrs. Heatherly wanted to show their staff how much they are loved!!! They went around the school and delivered a sweet Valentine to all of their Valentines!!

Mrs. Brassfield is teaching the kids how to make cookbooks in computers!
They are making cookbooks using Microsoft Word. They are learning how to format their pages, use bullets, numbering lists, and inserting 3-D models. They are also changing fonts, colors, sizes, learning copying/pasting information, etc. They were creating the front cover but, will be adding recipes over the next few weeks!

Do you remember last week when we posted about the promethean boards? The kids and teachers are LOVING them!!!! They are learning new things on them everyday.

Have you heard about our January Jump?? Mrs. Branco set up the coolest course to help the kids work on their jumping skills. They worked on jump rope, the floor is lava (jumping from spot to spot) and jumping over hurdles and up/down on platforms.
It was so much fun!!!
I can't wait to see what Mrs. Branco has planned for the February Fitness!!

We had so much fun celebrating Mrs. McComb yesterday for National Counselors Day.
Here is what Mrs. McComb said it means to her to be a counselor at CPS.

Look who came to Catalayah today for a visit!!
Some High School Band members came to talk to our 5th graders about band. They watched a slideshow presentation and even got to try out a few instruments. The High School students played the fight song and a few other song for us!!

On Wednesdays we eat ice cream!!!
Well, its every other Wednesday we have ice cream available to be purchased when students (and staff!) finish their lunch. Ice Cream is sold in the cafeteria and is $1.00.

Mrs. Hall is teaching her steam classes to use fruit as a keyboard. I'm serious!! FRUIT AS A KEYBOARD.
MaKey MaKey lets you transform everyday objects (we used fruit) into computer keys. Using a programmable circuit board and alligator clips the students were conducting electricity through the apples and bananas. Once connected the fruit became the computer arrows and could be used in any program on their computer.

In Mrs. Coffey's art class they have been working on agamograph optical illusions.
Also known as a Lenticular, an agamograph is an art form that uses optical illusion to create that changes when you look at it from different angles.
They did such a good job on these. They really are so cool!!

Our 3rd graders have sent their dioramas to the Museum.
Please don't forget to stop by the Will Rogers Memorial Museum and vote each time you stop by. You can vote during the month of February. Anyone can come and vote on their favorite diorama.
Feb 27 at 2:00 there will be a talent show and the winners will be announced.
