Mrs. Brassfield is teaching her students coding in Computer Class. They are teaching their Elfs to dance while learning to code!!!
Coding is the a method of communicating with a computer. It is using a language that a computer understands to give a computer instructions in order to perform specific functions. Coding allows us to create things such as computer software, websites, apps and video games.
Understanding computers and learning the basics of coding helps children to develop an appreciation of how things work. From problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and creativity, there are so many reasons to learn programming.

Mrs. Roller's class has been working hard on their 10 days of Kindness Challenge. They have been offering help to others, smiling to everyone they see, writing kind notes, inviting someone new to play, and even help someone tidy up their workspace.
I think its safe to say that everyone around here has been enjoying these kindness challenges.

JA Biztown!!!
Our 5th graders got to enjoy a field trip to Biztown yesterday. They all had so much fun!
JA BizTown combines in-class learning with a day-long visit to a simulated town. This program allows elementary school students to operate banks, manage restaurants, write checks, and vote for mayor. The program helps students connect the dots between what they learn in school and the real world.

Mrs. Coffey is at it again. She has been teaching her classes how to weave with yarn and make a God's eye. Kids love making these.
A God's eye (in Spanish, Ojo de Dios) is a spiritual and votive object made by weaving a design out of yarn upon a wooden cross. Often several colors are used. They are commonly found in Mexican and Mexican American communities.
