Check out Mrs. Stolusky's ant farm. Its so cool!!!
Her students really enjoyed watching the ants. Older ant farms were very simple. They consisted of sand between two pieces of glass. Newer ant farms use brightly colored gel to create a stable ecosystem for the ants, so they look super cool. Taking care of an ant farm helps to instill a sense of responsibility in a child. They have to feed and water their ant pets every day. In return, kids can watch the fascinating way ants interact with their environment.

Mr. J purchased some steel tongue drums for the music room!!
These are so cool!! I can't wait to see the kids try these out. A steel tongue drum is an instrument that has only notes that are all perfectly in tune with each other, as part of a scale (specific series of notes). This means that almost any combination of notes (chords) or sequence of notes (melodies) will be harmonized and sound good to the ears.

Over 140 1st - 6th graders were building skills, a love of the sport, and the Zebra legacy on historic Lantow Field this week. Players participated in non-contact drills, made friends, and made memories they will carry with them through high school when they complete their final walk across a stage on that very same field.

In art Mrs. Coffey introduced the kids to oil pastels.
Oil pastels are a great choice for beginners with zero painting experience. Oil pastels are made up of soft, oily compositions that make oil pastels great for blending. They are perfect tools to unleash your imagination and creativity.
