Expectation #5- We will help one another whenever possible. Last week the NJROTC Corps of Cadets came and helped make Catalayah beautiful!!! They volunteered their time to not only clean up Catalayah but also all Claremore Public Schools, VFW, American Legion and Disabled American Veterans. Here it is!!!! The moment we have all been waiting for! Do you remember when I told you about the art contest the City of Claremore Storm Water Manager presented to 5th graders? Do you also remember me telling you- our very own Hanna Stesney is the winner?!?!? Hanna got to attend the City Council meeting Monday night where they recognized Hanna and showed off her drawing. Her drawing is already on the truck and we have not only been seeing the truck around town but it also comes to Catalayah!!! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Beasley's class took advantage of this beautiful weather and took their Earth Day projects outside to work on!!! Earth Day is Saturday the 22nd! Make sure you check back to not only see Mrs. Beasley's projects but to check out what other classes are working on also! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Ms. Henry and the STEM club worked on some coding yesterday. They got on Ozoblockly Shape Tracer 2, to practice coding skills! The coding program builds skills in mathematics, sequencing (steps for the robot), noticing patterns, and so much more. Students were unknowingly to them reinforcing skills from their academics through this program in a fun, new, and exciting way! Mrs. Dunham and I really enjoyed that we could see how hard they were having to think about it but were still succeeding. Some students even made mistakes but showed their problem solving skills to change the code to do what they actually needed/wanted it to do. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Did you hear about how much fun we had this morning with no electricity?!?! We definitely used it to our advantage!! Flashlight reading, sidewalk chalk, learning and reading outside and even WIN groups outside! Thankfully, it was a beautiful day outside!!! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Enrollment for the 2023-2024 school year is now open! All families must complete enrollment every year. Enrollment may be completed entirely online, and we recommend using a desktop or laptop computer to enroll. If you do not have access to a computer, or if you need enrollment assistance, the CPS Enrollment Center has computers and scanners available and will be happy to help. They are open daily from 8a - 4p (arrive by 3:30p). You are now able to enroll your current students for the 2023-2024 school year by accessing the student records portal through this link https://ok.wengage.com/claremore. Please watch the video instructions or follow the written instructions to update the necessary information and complete the 2024 school year enrollment. This applies to current and new students. Mr. D lead this ukulele group in their performance this morning!!! These kids have been giving up some of their elective time the past few weeks to learn how to play the ukulele!! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Castle's class is Learning about 3D shapes: edges, faces, & vertices by building our own using tooth picks to represent the edges & marshmallows to represent vertices. The open spaces are our faces. 🙂🙃🙂 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Today is National Assistant Principal Day. Catalayah's first time ever FULL TIME ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL- Jennifer Basks!!! Mrs. Basks has jumped into this roll at full speed. She is AMAZING!!!! She has been so helpful to teachers, staff, students and Mrs. Shuck. Mrs. Basks- WE APPRECIATE YOU!!! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

This week Mrs. Cole's pre-k classes started their bunnies 🐰 and carrots 🥕 learning centers. They are looking forward to hunting eggs in the library today🥚 🧺 🐰 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

IT'S INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT DAY!!! An instructional assistant supports the primary teacher in a classroom. As an instructional assistant, you work with students to help them understand the lesson taught by the teacher. You also help supervise students and organize the learning materials. Other job duties may include grading papers, preparing supplies for the lesson plan, and straightening up the classroom. Teachers rely on instructional assistants to manage the students and keep them focused, especially in large classes. Seriously, the list goes on and on. Catalayah could NOT run without our Instructional Assistants. They are so important to our students and staff. Their schedules might change at the drop of a hat and we are lucky to have people that just roll with the flow. If you see these people around today make sure you tell them how much you appreciate them!!! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
