Another Friday Favorite today!!! Mrs. Castle said one of her favorite things to do in the summer is to be at the pool!!! Today is a great day to grab a sonic drink and head to the pool!!!! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Throwback Thursday!! This was during a Fire Safety Assembly just a few years ago. Lol!! In this part of the assembly the mother and daughter were meeting at their safe place incase of a fire!! We had more helpers earlier this week!!! Catalayah has a lot of moving going on this summer. Thankfully we have had several helpers come and help us move furniture and other things. Huge shout out to these kids for coming to help on their summer break!!! They got A LOT of work done! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Our very own Ms. Henry got the chance to go to a week long professional development in Alabama called Space Academy for Educators. She met educators from all over the the United States and even one from Australia. Once there she did astronaut training simulators and did activities made to help promote learning for the classroom. Which type of astronaut training would you want to do? Ms. Henry’s favorite was the MAT (multi-axis trainer) the sphere. “I didn’t think I would like it and I was super nervous. I still did it anyway and it turned out to be my favorite thing, I even did it twice!” - Ms. Henry They also have camps for students, families, and adults. https://www.rocketcenter.com/SpaceCamp Her activities included: -Building Model Rockets -Experienced 3Gs -Listened to David Hitt talk about Skylab and got a signed book by him. -Then of course listened and talked with SpaceX Astronaut Dr. Sian Proctor as an educator herself at the collegiate level she understood how important it was for us to get pictures for our students. She won her way to space through her art and poetry. She was also the first black female to pilot a space vehicle and the 4th black female in space. -We had our first mission, I worked in and outside of the ISS. PAYCOM also enjoyed us doing the macarena for them. - Model Rocket Launch - We saw Homer Hickam and Dr. Proctor talking and it was funny because they were both so excited to see each other. - The planetarium - Saw Miss Baker’s grave (a space monkey) - MAT (Multi-Axis Trainer) - Orion Mission Control - GNC (Guidance, Navigation, and Control) - 1/6th chair - aka Moon Walking - “Helicopter Crash” - Homer Hickam - Rocket Boys/October Sky How COOL!!! We are so excited Ms. Henry got to go on this trip. We can't wait to see what she brings to her classroom this year. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Look at these boys!!! Some of our Zebra High School Football players come and help move furniture. We have a lot of moving going on at Catalayah and we are so thankful these sweet boys came to help! Each year, local Masonic Lodges across Oklahoma honor outstanding students with the Student of Today award, a certificate recognizing that student for his or her accomplishments, including GPA, leadership and general personal and academic development. Our local Masonic Lodge also awards one outstanding teacher with a Teacher of Today award. During our 5th grade graduation Benjamin Dinh and Bella Thomas were awarded with the Student of Today awards!! Mrs. Ritter was awarded the Teacher of Today!! Great job to these students and teacher. Well we have had all our field trips, graduations, track and field day and last day of school. We have prepared our 5th graders for the Jr High!!! Enrollment for the 2023-2024 school year is now open! All families must complete enrollment every year. Enrollment may be completed entirely online, and we recommend using a desktop or laptop computer to enroll. If you do not have access to a computer, or if you need enrollment assistance, the CPS Enrollment Center has computers and scanners available and will be happy to help. They are open daily from 8a - 4p (arrive by 3:30p). You are now able to enroll your current students for the 2023-2024 school year by accessing the student records portal through this link https://ok.wengage.com/claremore. Please watch the video instructions or follow the written instructions to update the necessary information and complete the 2024 school year enrollment. This applies to current and new students.
